About the Author

Atsuko Matsuyama is one of Japan’s leading quilt artists and fabric designers. In 1989, she opened her quilt studio A-Two. She often exhibits her work at the Tokyo International Quilt Festival and she makes regular television appearances. Matsuyama also designs fabrics for Yuwa, Japan.

Japanese quilt and fabric designer Matsuyama's cheery mix-and-match style is on trend, making this an ideal time for an English-language release of her 2009 book of patchwork projects featuring hand embroidery and hand appliqué. Reproduction fabrics from the 1930s, many designed by Matsuyama, are highlighted, as are fruit and floral motifs, and the palette features plenty of bright, bold color.
