The best of his books yet! Fast read because you will not want to put it down. If you have ever lived in the Boston area it will be easy to relate to this book, knowing how many crooked politicians operate there.

Hard knocks is a delightful private eye procedural. And PI Jack Reilly knows the procedures so well, he knows just what do when he is approached with opportunities to bring down the guys who need bringing down. It starts, unsurprisingly, with a dead body. But this body had just told Jack to be expecting some goods, goods that a lot of people want their hands on. The Mob and the politicians both don't want to see these goods in the light of day. But first Jack himself has to take possession. Once a certain key comes into his possession, he, and the reader, begins a roll that takes you through the back hallways of power, both legal and illegal, Soon most everyone is looking to Jack, but he's looking to a woman, one who also has a press card.I enjoyed it, and no, I did not get a free copy or paid for this review!
