Thomas has made many mistakes. Meeting her wasn't one of them. He's the sinner. She's his saving grace and he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Whether gritty and heartbreaking, lighthearted and fun or darkly mysterious, Ms. Depaul always makes her stories fresh and unforgettable. Street is a contradiction in so many ways. His past choices have been questionable, on his exterior he seems more beast than human but he fights for those he loves with everything he is. Katie and her precious daughter give him some of that feeling that he lost in his soul an make him want to be a better man.

Book exchanged for an honest review~ Thomas "Street" Street is an ex-con looking to hook up with his fantasy woman Katie. Katie has haunted Street's dreams for years. Street wants to get close to Katie in any way that he can. Katie's own dreams have been haunted by Street as well. Katie works in a bookstore while going to college and raising her infant daughter Riley. Katie has her own set of hang ups regarding her life and the men she chooses. Can Street be the man Katie needs? Will Katie let Street into her heart? Your answers await you in Hard Time. This new to me author told a heartbreaking turned into redemption which appeals to me on alot of levels. The story and characters were real, honest, complex, unique, compelling, raw, gritty, and down to earth. I look forward to more from this author in the future and in this series.

This is one sexy hot romance! I loved it from the beginning in prison, where Street and Katie can't keep their eyes off each other, right through to the HEA ending. At heart, Street is a good man who did a bad thing while helping out a friend. Katie represents everything he wants but doesn't think he deserves. Katie chose the wrong man before but she knows Street is the right man for her and she won't give up until he believes it too. These two are crazy about each other and I loved their story. My rating is 4.5 stars.

2.5 Stars I was asked to read and review Hard Times and give it an honest review. The book is currently free on a few sites. I found both Katie and Street to be utter contradictions. The first part of the book Katie is an abused mouse then she turns a complete 180 when Street comes back into the picture. I liked the second version of Kate better, but it was such a contradiction that it didn’t mesh well in my mind. Then there is Street. He is depicted as this badass prisoner, Then he gets out, and I suppose he is showing depth, because he can sprout poetry. Conrad made him so darn wishy washy when it came to his feeling for Katie, there really isn’t anything badass about him. When she brings in a motorcycle club I’m shaking my head thinking "really"! Did I hate it? No. Did I love it? No. It was OK. I just like it when my Alpha is more alpha, or at least tied with the female lead in the story. When the chick is the one manning up and asking the hard questions like, Why you always running away from your problems? I can’t get behind that Alpha....Sara

Katie serves food in the prison Thomas Street was sent to. They fantasize quite a bit about one another over time. When he is released from prison he finds her, works in the bookshop she works in and they begin a relationship that ends with a HEA. If you like bad boy alpha males, women who are attracted to these men, don’t mind instant relationships based on fantasy and are in the mood for a contemporary romance that is more fairy tale than reality then this might be a book you will enjoy. This is the first book in a series that will star the Nailed Motor Cycle Club. The members were in the same orphanage together, bonded and are there for one another always. It will be interesting to see what happens as the series develops.

3.5 Stars! First of all, this cover rocks! Between the cover and the synopsis, I had to read this book. I think a lot of woman have a fantasy about a guy in prison cause let's face it, he's the ultimate bad boy. Knowing Street is obssessed with Katie and even hunts her down after he gets out of prison is a lure I couldn't resist. While I did like this book and it was maturely written, it wasn't as hot as I was hoping. The only reason I have is, it felt like we were reading about two teenagers instead of a full grown man and woman. That's the only thing that kept this from a 5 star read for me. Still a great book and I loved it enough that I can't wait to read the rest of the series. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
