Hardship tells a good story about Ship Captian Ia's time on Dabin, a watery heavy world. Her many ups, downs, and battles to save lives. Dabin is a world held in seige. Ia is a massive precognative psi. Rogue Feyori also make an appereance. While some followers of this series were upset that what was going to be the last book of the series has been split between two books, I believe that Hardship makes a very good book and stands well on its own. The included first chapter peak at the next book Damnation has made me very anxious for that December 2014 release!

Great story, I loved every minute of it. I bought the next book as soon as I fished this one.

I usually don't read books with female protagonists, authors have this inability to write a strong female character without somehow focusing on the fact that she can have sex and how impossibly attractive her love interest is. This series managed to completely change my opinion. Not only is Ia one of the best characters i have ever had the pleasure of reading about, but she refuses to be a female stereotype. She has a mission to save existence and nothing will get in her way, without the need for any of the traps a story usually falls in. This is the first story about about a prophecy I have read that focuses entirely on the Prophet, not the hero that will eventually will save the universe. I cannot recommend this series more, it has been one of the most enjoyable books I have had the pleasure of reading.

I fell in love with this series from the first book, and am actually thrilled we readers are being gifted with one more book in this series because this book had to be split into two books. There is action, loss, excitement, questions, love, and answers all within this series, and in each book. Each book has pulled you forward into the next phase of the main character, Ia's, life. This book fits well with what is going on in today's world while also giving you a wonderful, hopeful escape from your own troubles.
