The book was featured in the May 2011 AKC Canine Partners newsletter.

A children’s picture book based on the true story of a loveable mixed breed dog who became an agility champion, Harley, The Throwaway Puppy, follows her from life at the shelter to her first agility competition.

If you and your family love dogs, then Harley, The Throwaway Puppy, will fill your heart. Ages three and up can enjoy the true story of Harley together, knowing that your purchase supports animal rescue charities.

Harley’s story has a lesson for all of us — that we can overcome setbacks and challenges, poor starts, and bumps along the road if we have the love and support of our family and friends, just as Harley did. This book is about the love of a family for a dog.

The book also gives an introduction to the exciting sport of dog agility through Harley's journey.

Watercolor illustrations by the author accompany the text.

Please check out the sequel to this book too! Mo: A Throwaway Puppy Story shows how Harley's little brother Mo came to the family -- from a forest.
