When I was a young girl living in England, I awoke one Christmas morning to discover a very special gift under the tree.
It was a chocolate brown teddy bear sporting a green satin bow around his neck. His fur was soft and cozy, and his eyes were hazel. I was filled with joy to have this new friend and decided to name him Harold.
Harold went everywhere I did.
At night, I would tuck him under the soft flannel blankets with me and hold him tight in my arms.
Harold went on car rides to the market where my mother would buy fresh bright fruits and vegetables.
Sometimes we would travel to a tiny town that had a delectable fudge shop with incredible smells.
Harold always went with me, and I always carried him by one ear.
One of our most memorable trips was to Europe where we saw the Eiffel Tower in France, and I enjoyed warm cocoa, crusty French bread, and soft delicious cheese.
We were amazed with the stunning snow-capped mountains in Austria and Switzerland ...
... inspired by the grand castles in Italy ...
