Harp is the story of 3 protagonists set in the 1960’s and their journey into different locations to search their own self and love. It is one of those books which can take you to different places from the comfort of your bedroom. It is a story about love, which is told through the characters. How Ashok falls in love with a Polish musician Lauren on his travels across Europe, and then finds another love in India. The story is fascinating with really vivid descriptions of the places that Ashok travels through. The book invokes a sense of romanticism in you. Writing is refreshingly simple and natural. Beautiful is just not enough for the experience that this read provides you. It is a book about second chances. A book that will give its readers hope that love will find a way

This book will have you hooked from the word go and it will be really hard for you to put it down. This is definitely not one of your regular run of the mills love story. It is about this young Indian guy who travels to Europe and falls in love with a Polish musician. How their love is challenged and how he finds another woman back home in India. Interestingly woven in between the Ashok Lauren saga is the existing socio-economic situation of that time in both India and abroad. Kudos to the writer for coming up with such a lovely storyline and excellent writing. It is a beautiful, touching and heartbreaking love story which gives its readers hope about love and life. The characters are portrayed so strongly that they leave a lasting impression on your mind. This is a story about second chances.

You cannot always have your way with love. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Such is the story of Ashok. A young student who travels all the way to Europe only to fall in love with Lauren – a beautiful Polish girl who loves playing the Harp and has a calling for music. Ashok and Lauren both have a dilemma posed in front of them – to go for what they love or to go for what society expects from them. Harp is a brilliantly stitched story about love and longing and coming of age. Right from the first page till the last page it manages to keep you mesmerized. The twist that comes when another girl enters the story and alters Ashok’s life is ingenious. How these three main characters try and make the best of their situations makes Harp a wonderful read. The pace of the book is perfect. It is a story written in very simple words that manages to touch your heart. The suspense and the interconnecting of events will leave you feeling impressed with the author. It surely takes you back in time with vivid descriptions of how times were back in the sixties.
