A reclusive novelist, her daughter, and her two granddaughters each have a voice in this book that kept me engaged. The mail carrier left it in my mailbox at 3 p.m. on the 18th. By 3 p.m. on the 19th, I had finished reading, but I was still engaged. This is one of those I'll probably read again to see what I may have missed. The main theme is mother/daughter relationships and shows how important it is to keep the lines of communication open. There's also a love affair that lasts through the ages, and I kept rushing through, eager for the next time they were together. I don't want to let slip any spoilers, so I won't say more, but particularly if you're a woman, this book is for you. I give it five stars.
