I really liked this story. Fathers often leave their families for stupid reasons. Sometimes men can't handle fatherhood, or being a husband, so they pale out. Julius was a good man because he lived up to his mistake acknowledged, it and set out to try to reconcile with his boys. I commend him on that.

This was the 2nd book that I read by RM Johnson, I am very Pleased with his work. I enjoyed the book all the way through, it depicted real life events and it was really detailed as far as showing how the characters handle these problems. It makes you think about how short life really is... If you were gonna die in 1 week, will you be prepared? It's something to think about.

I would highly recommend this book to everyone, but would all but 'demand' anyone who is holding grudges against a love one or friend to read The Harris Family. This let us see that not only tomorrow, but the next few hours are not promised to any of us. As for the characters, all of the Harris Men has issues that they need to deal with, but Austin(especially) need to get into anger management...like...yesterday! I only have two questions pertaining to the Harris Family: (1)What ever happened between Austin and Trace? Did they finally settle their differences and remarry (they still seem to be in love with each other-to a degree) OR did Austin finally go home even though he was adamant that he would be at Trace's indefinitely. (2)Who is the female on the front of the cover-Reecie, Trace,or Sonja? She seem too young to be Cathy (Julian's wife).

The Harris Family is an excellent novel. The descriptive details and surreal events kept me engaged. I would definitely recommend this book.

The Harris Family picks up 5 years after the end of The Harris Men and the stories of Julius (the father) and Austin, Marcus, and Caleb (the sons) continues on from there. I loved this story because you got to find out what happened to the characters since The Harris Men and I loved the fact that there was closure at the end. Too many sequels leave you hanging but this one left me totally satisfied. By this book and enjoy!

This sequel to the Harris Men is excellent. It is very deep, unpredictable and emotion driven. It re-introduces you to the characters and takes you through their new lives after the father has reunited with his sons. This novel brings closure to the Harris Men and captures your attention from start to finish. I truly enjoyed it and recommend it highly. Job well done, Mr. Johnson. Keep up the fine work!!
