About the Author

Erin Thomas is the author of several books for children and teens. Part of the inspiration for Haze came from Erin's own experiences with hazing at university. Erin's first book in the Orca Sports series, Boarder Patrol, was a Canadian Children's Book Centre "Best Book for Kids and Teens" selection. She lives in Whitby, Ontario, with her husband, their daughter, a small gray cat and a large black dog. Both the cat and the dog hate to swim. The Sharks called us "pond scum."

A small black kit wonders in, carrying a dead crow. She sits and looks around curiously, the crow barely smaller than she.

Bram is a swimmer, hoping to make the school team and become a Shark. He puts up with the stupid pranks the hopefuls are forced to endure but gets warned by a friend to stay away the initiation party. The next day, the friend is seriously injured and Bram begins to wonder if something sinister is afoot, related to the death of a swimmer several years ago. His investigation puts himself and others in danger. A great addition to the Orca Sports series for reluctant readers.
