Another excellent tale written by Patricia Waddell. I have read her previous three He Said books, and of course just 'had' to read this one also.. and am glad I did. Well-written..fast-paced.. but the story of Evelyn, and Marshall..(Marquis of Waltham) kept my interest from beginning to end.. This is a Must Read book...and a definite recommend..

FIRST READ FOR ME AND THIS AUTHOR. BOUGHT ALL THE 'HE SAIDS' AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT TWO. ON A SENSUAL SCALE OF 1-10 IT'S AN 8! THE ONLY MISSING PIECE IS THE STORYLINE OF A MARRIAGE MINDED WOMAN THAT NEVER WENT ANYWHERE AND IT SURELY COULD HAVE.

Now I remember why I always loved Historical Romance! And Patricia Waddell does it JUST RIGHT - with a light touch and woven in so well, you don't even notice all the historical detail until you catch yourself saying out loud, 'I didn't know that!' And her characters are great, too. Real, emotional, multi-dimensional.

If ever there were a man to champion my needs, please let it be the Marquis of Waltham, Marshall Hanley Bedford. I love this hero. Even his flaws gleam with the polished perfection of his peerage. The intelligent and witty Marquis of Waltham will have a mistress and sets his mind on the lovely seamstress, Evelyn Dennsworth. Fate falls at his feet when Evelyn is accused of steeling. Already a captive of her beauty, the marquis saves her from the horrors of London¿s Victorian prisons. Like playing a long slow game of poker, the Marquis uses his finely honed aristocratic skills to seduce her. Though the lovable Evelyn may be vulnerable to his charms, she is far too smart to be tricked by his seduction. With every play of his hand they come closer to being exposed to a society as binding to class as the corsets that bound their women. Ms Waddell is a gifted writer. She has an uncanny ability to write one line dialogues and events that speaks volumes about her characters. I roared with laughter, screamed with their triumph and cried at their defeat. I¿m so glad ¿He Said Yes¿ is the beginning of a series because I do not want this to end.

I really enjoyed this book. Great characters and a well-told story with lots of sensuality that makes the romance ring true. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Patricia Waddell added herself to my list of authors to always look for in the book store. This story is a slow building sensuality between Marshall and Evelyn, an instant chemistry that jumps off the page. The author writes in a way that keeps you looking for more and feeling the heat and intimacy without it being overdone. The premise of the story is a principled shop girl is saved from incarceration for a crime she didn't commit by a Marquis. His motive is nothing more than to install her as his mistress, but he shows complete kindness and respect for her, going out of his way to help her and put her needs first. It is love at first sight, but both see it as attraction (lust), yet can't help but show tenderness. This continues to build as they are drawn to each other like iron to a magnate. I think this is the author's greatest talent in this story; she builds the tension very well and both characters are very likeable. I will look for more of Patricia Waddell's books now.

The story line is perfect, the characters are real and believable as they take you on a sensual romp through Victorian England. Enjoyed everything about this book, and if this is the first in a series of four, can hardly wait to read the next three!! I highly recommed this to anyone who loves a sensual and very well written book.
