Theresa was born into an American military family stationed in Germany on July 16, 1954. They predominately lived in Lawton, Oklahoma and her dad is buried there at the Ft. Sill cemetery.
Church life was a normal life. She grew up under the nurture and care of a wonderful pastor and parents who convinced her from a very early age that God was real and He was personal...and He could meet her every need. She believed every word of it!
That steadfast belief and knowing that God could pull her out of any one of her messes, at any given time, has kept her in a place of hope all her life.
For as long as she can remember, she had a desire to write. She enjoys reading biographies and true life stories. After the death of her husband of 20 years, the writing became a release, a healing process, and a new life emerged as she began her own publishing company Heart of My Heart Publishing Co., LLC.

She has written Path of Miracles Books 1-5, The Bethel Road, Dew of The Morning and several volumes of "To Know Me" Love Letters from God, Daily Doses of God's Love, Daily Inspiration, Daily Encouragement, Healing Words, Words From The Heart, The Lord's Words, The Place of Pain, A Children's Christmas Story Play, and more to come!
These books came out of a recovery of a financial loss during the death of Theresa's late husband and her road back to financial victory, emotional healing, and joy in this new era of her life.
She is now happily married as of March 19, 2011 and enjoying a passel of grandchildren equaling 16 from ages 1 up! She and her late husband, Dick Heflin, were part owners of a hospital and he was an administrator.
Now, God has blessed Theresa with Ralph Nichols, a cattle farmer, a slow-paced life in the country where heaven meets earth every day. She lives a life surrounded by peace, a train's whistle, their cat's purr, the neighbor's dog, and it makes all conducive for writing from the heart.
