Every time a Connor Clan book is published a romance reader gets a gift. For me it is like Christmas, my birthday and flowers for no reason, all rolled into one story filled with drool worthy Scottish Warriors, their feisty mates (not all the warriors are male..... How awesome is that??) and some uber nasty demons out to make Hell on Earth.  Oh, and a crazy old woman with bottled Holy water and a weird cat who may or may not be a vampire slayer.  Sound good yet? Oh, you better believe it! This is book crack, baby. Of the most addictive kind. The hero, ( You know that word is starting to bother me because Anna is as much the hero as Tavis. Hmmmm, how about male lead? Yes, I like that better.) Anyway, Tavis, the male lead in Heart of a Highland Warrior is Faelon's brother from waaaaaaay back in the day, whom everyone assumes is dead because, well, he was born like 150 years ago. But through the miracle of time vaults, Tavis lives to be held captive in a demon dungeon with no memories of his past life. Enter Anna, the WARRIOR!! Woo hoo! (although Tavis is a Warrior as well, he just doesn't remember it, so it doesn't count.) She's out scoping out some suspicious characters and gets captured and thrown in a cell with the woolly Tavis. He's in pitiful shape, and yada, yada. A bond is formed, a mysterious hybrid is the savior (OMG, I knew who he was and actually did a yelp and a fist pump!). There is soooo much going on in HoaHW that this book could have easily ran another two to three hundred pages (don't I wish!). The action is fast and the changes and surprises are rapid fire. Don't blink or try to skim because you WILL miss vital information for this story and future books. All the characters are in flux and the Council is under suspicion. It's not clear who can be trusted anymore. I think I have more gray hair now. Clairol can bill Anita Clenney for my next dye job. She can throw some drama and tension, as well as some serious sexual heat.  The combination of the Scottish warriors, time travel, demon battling and romance is a winner and a mixture that I personally can not get enough of. Please, please hire multiple assistants so that you can spend more time writing. Warrior withdrawal is painful and detrimental to my emotional well being. Superior work Anita, bravissima.

Another awesome book in the Highland Warrior Series. Anna is one of the few present day Female Warriors! Her story will have you rooting for a happy ending. She has had a lot of pain in her life - from a mother who didn't want her to losing her closest and dearest friend. When she is thrown in a dungeon with a prisoner that she has no doubt is another warrior from long ago they both feel a strange pull. Will they find happiness, Will they be able to overcome their pasts? I won't give away the story or the ending but the book is so very much worth reading!

Anita Clenney has done it again with another of her Highland Warrior novels! This story has danger, intrigue, romance and a whole bunch of sexy warriors...and the best part is that women are represented! Plenty of twists and turns and not to give anything away, but Faelan isn't the only one left of his family...definitely a must read!

As the acclaimed Highland Warrior series progresses, more characters appear, more storylines intersect, and a fine first page filled with names and relationships is a welcome opening to this Highland paranormal romance. After all, there are present and past sibling loyalties to consider, as well as ancient demons, vampires and more, plus castles in Scotland and America, or simply “elsewhere.” But readers, whether faithful of forgetful, will quickly come to speed with the tale, as characters’ natural musings bring earlier histories to life. If it all gets a little rushed at times, just pick out the earlier books and read from the start! There’s life and death in this story, with cruel tortures and surprising humanity found in the strangest places. But there’s also romance and a storyarc that reveals dark mysteries behind the scenes. Luckily, love is a power for the present, and evil isn’t as one-dimensional as it might seem. Who will fall? Who will be redeemed? And how will these warrior brothers, out of time, resolve the question of where they were meant to be? The answers still lie in future books, but the balance of past and present mores is filled with intriguing questions of fate and loyalty, while ancient warriors faced with modern-day conveniences (not to mention modern-day, warrior wives) offer plenty of humor, romantic tension, and fun in a romantic adventure that definitely adds depth and mystery to the series. Disclosure: I was given a free ecopy and I offer my honest review. It’s a fun series, best read in order. But please, when does the next one come out?

Travis Connor is coming to help his brother Faelan even if it means travelling to the future. His family is charged with protecting the humans from the demons. Upon his arrival he's captured and imprisoned, Anna MacKinley finds him and is locked up with him. Their attraction is powerful even though they both fight it. They are determined to do what they must to survive. What will happen to them and the Connor Clan? This book is a roller coaster ride filled with suspense and many unexpected twists. Travis is a powerful Alpha warrior who finds the 21st century a strange place. He wants Anna but she mystifies him with her manners. I loved Anna. It's wonderful to have a kick-ass woman who can take care of herself. I found it enjoyable to see familiar characters and see how they fared. Anita Clenney delivers a story that has it all - romance, suspense and the paranormal. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I want to know about Cam.

This is really a 4.5 star read Ms. Clenney does a great job of weaving an intriguing story about Anna and her two cell mates imprisoned in a hidden stone fortress. One is a stranger who has no idea who he is but she feels she knows. The other is just scary but reminds her of someone she once knew. Anna is a strong warrior women who never wants to marry and have kids. After finding out the secret about her unknown father she is more determined than ever. What I find even more interesting in this book is the fact that it took me a while to figure out who the amnesia man was. With all the reading I do I almost always guess early and exact, so though this was a frustration for me I was intrigued and on a quest to solve the mystery.  The scary mystery man kept me guessing till the very end and it was a shock. I can't wait to see how the next book starts and if it takes up from this shocking ending. I do recommend reading this series in order. They are a fast exciting read.
