Overview

Heart of Thunder by Johanna Lindsey

No man had ever dared to force his attentions on stunning, hot-tempered Samantha Kingsley--until Hank Chavez, the rugged, arrogant outlaw, aroused the spirited hellcat's fury. . .and her passion.

Heart of Thunder

Samantha vowed to kill the magnificent rogue. . .if her father didn't do it first. For there's only one thing Chavez wants more than the Kingley's sprawling Mexican spread: to awaken in Samantha desires she has never known. . .and to take the tempestuous beauty in bold, rapturous conquest.

Usually, I will read a few chapters into a romance and find the plot thin and the characters crap. Also, the situations are far from believable and highly corny. THIS story however... wow. I was entranced from page one. It starts with Samantha taking her revenge on a guy. She's quirky and real, beyond her times. And Hank is so... I feel bad for him, having this firey woman to deal with. Even though there's a bit of rape (well, half rape) which I usually don't go for, it adds to the story. See, Samantha gets captured by Hank and he uses her as ransom, because he's a criminal. I don't want to give it away! It's thoroughly enjoyable. It's the first of JL that I've read and others are like, 'not one of her best' and if this isn't her best then... wow. I MUST read her others.

I loved that the female character in this book was smart, and didn't listen to the current society standards. She had her own mind and thought for herself. I love and enjoy that confidence. As always I couldn't put it down :)

I have read a lot of JL's books. I'll give this one a 6/10. It wasnt one of my favorites, but I still liked it. Theres alot happening in the book. I kinda didnt know what to expect next and I liked the spanish she used in it, it makes the storie sometimes interesting and funny (like in some of her other books too ;0). The characters are nice. Samantha is a little too stubborn for me, but still likeable.JL is an excellent writer and I enjoy all of her books!!!

I have read ALOT of Johanna Lindsey's books. Usually I cannot wait to read the whole entire book, and always want to go back and read her stories again. This one was sadly lacking in her usual romance and sizzling appeal. If you should want to read just one of her stories, to learn more insight into the author, stay away from this one! More fighting and bickering than normal. sadly dis-appointing.

This is the first book that I read from Johanna Lyndsey, and let me say I am glad that I started off with this book. I fell in love with Samantha and Hank, their stubborness brought an exciting challange to the story. It really touched me, and I hope to read more if Johanna Lindsey!!

I have read alot of JL's books. However, this was not one of my favorites - the characters are stubborn and I did not think it had the chemistry of some of her other stories.

Samanthas rage really started to get old but i loved this romance anyway. As for rape? You cant rape the willing as they say. Also, hanks roughness seemed to turn samantha on. Great love story all in all. Phyl p
