This is one of those novels that you simply can’t put down. I read it from start to finish without ever leaving the couch. The world of the paranormal opens up to readers as the suspense of the tale takes hold. Crandall drew me completely into her world of were-cats and nefarious humans, not simply telling me a story but making me part of it. This story is so utterly believable that Crandall’s were cats could easily be living next door to me. I appreciated how Crandall went back and mentioned when and how were-cat genes are expressed and what it means for an individual. Crandall flips back and forth between the perspectives of the two main characters, giving you the inner track on their versions of the story. It gives readers some fantastic insights into who they are, as well as the full impact of the events on the colony. Getting to know Asia so intimately made her much more approachable than in past novels. She takes centre stage well as a character to be reckoned with. Asia’s ‘issue’ made me laugh. It wasn’t funny for her but definitely made for some comical plot twists. Conrad’s past catches up with him as well, giving you a look at why he acts the way he does. Together, however, these two are loveable & unstoppable. This well written novel held my attention from cover to cover. Crandall has taken what started as a good series and has turned it into something great. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
ADVANCE COPY PROVIDED BY AUTHOR Author Lynn Crandall once again transports us to the were-lynx world with her newest release, “Heartfelt.” The book is the third in her Fierce Hearts series. Much like were-lynx Asher Monroe, Ms. Crandall nudges readers into her colony of were-lynxes where desire and danger compete for our attention. In this story, investigative reporter Asia Blue is on a quest to save her mother from the evil experiments conducted by The Nexus Group, a company posing as animal rights preservationists but with ulterior motives. She enlists the help of her sexy best friend, Conrad Pike, a rebel with tight abs, a sensuous mouth, and the ability to solve problems. His dilemma, though, is that he falls in love with Asia. The best romances start with a solid friendship and these two, when they finally acknowledge their feelings, give us a hot, heartfelt commitment. The Nexus Group still looms as a threat so readers can look forward to more action from this colony and, happily, from this writer.
