Leslie Maitland, a well-established doctor at Chicago General, returns home to live with her grandmother in the quiet town of Craicsville, Kentucky after her broken relationship with long-time lover Paul Packett. Her homecoming is upended when she discovers aspiring politician, Travis Winston, has ingratiated himself in her grandmother's life. His constant presence grates on Leslie's apolitical nerves and dashes her hopes of a tranquil existence as the town's newest doctor. Against her will she is plunged into a political firestorm that forces her to confront a childhood tragedy in her past. Redemption means placing her trust in the very man she despises.

Reader Alert! Hearts Apart is a romantic story spiced with mystery and suspense, and a clash of wills. It will compel you through tender and harsh moments and grip you in a fiery passionate storm that you won't soon forget.

To My Readers: I try to find the heart and soul of my stories and that's what I write about. As women we tend to lead with our hearts, which makes us both strong and soft. Our conflicted emotions can take us off course sometimes, but when a woman finds her way, she can accomplish her goals and meet the man she was meant to love.
