A good book in a series stands alone. These two books are not good in that respect. Both books end abruptly without any closure of any kind. Both books ended like a chapter would. Not interested in purchasing the third book- just don't trust this author to bring closure to the series at all. Very sad because the author has other series as well...which I won't even look at now.

Danielle Stewart is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! She writes dramatic, funny, and sexy novels and this novella & book 2 of The Clover Series are no different! I love the chemistry and history of Devin & Rebecca. Can't wait to start All My Heart!!

loved both books, and the fact that it was free was even better... I just wish there was another book to follow up because it left questions unanswered...!!!!

Devin Sutton was put in jail for 9 years for a murder he didn't commit. He wanted revenge on the town, so many years later, when he was a multi-millionaire, he put a deal together that would destroy the town. He went back to Clover, North Carolina to finalize the deal that would make the town pay for everything he lost when he was put in jail. But when he got there, he realized things weren't what he thought. He really had to re-think his plan when he met his first love, Rebecca Farrus, and realized she was a single mom struggling to survive and not married and living a good life as he thought.
I liked the plot and characters in Hearts of Clover. This story shows how a community can work together to make things better. I liked that they were willing to sign the deal with Devin's company even though it would bring a landfill to their town (making it an unappealing place to live), in order to get rid of their corrupt law enforcement.
I don't think the ending is so much a cliffhanger as just not ending at all. Not much was wrapped up. I was so annoyed at the lack of ending that I definitely will not be buying other books in this series or by this author.

Mystery, revenge, hope, desperation, with a touch of romance. Each book leaves you with more questions for the answers given.

What she does well: The premise and plot are interesting and the author grabs and holds your attention. The range of characters keeps the story progressing as the reader gets more involved. The action scenes and conversely the romantic scenes, are both beautifully written. The main characters, as young people, are well defined. Lesser characters add depth and spice. The imagery and dialogue are realistic and convincing.
What she doesn’t do well: One flaw is in character development. The lead characters get the reader invested in them very quickly, however, instead of building on that momentum, the author makes dramatic shifts in their personality and decisions that do not tie in with their current situations, nor psychological growth. It jars the reader and takes you out of the moment. It also makes the reader less involved with the characters and their potential for success, as no one wants to root for a protagonist given to abuse of others and infringing on their rights and persons. That describes the bad guys generally, so the author will lose readers by transforming the hero and heroine into uncontrolled, evil people. Another miss: Attempts at humor are not well delivered. You can recognize what the goal is, but the jokes don’t land. Also, in keeping with other reviewers, I agree that the cliffhanger ending only makes sense in a serial read, so a reader should be made aware that, while each section can be read on its own, there is staging for the next story built into each ending.
In conclusion, the books have good ideas, staging, plot progression and a compelling nature, however, the author would do well to remember to represent her characters as whole, well rounded people, given to the vagaries and imperfections of humans, and less like caricatures strung together to create wholeness. They start looking like Frankenstein’s monsters - stitched together, but not complete.

I wish I had known that the series was continuing when I read the first two. Very frustrating to get to the end of the second book and find out that it was not finished I will not purchase the rest. Definitely not stand alone.oks.

This book has you sitting on the edge of your seat. You're almost there, you turn the page and it says "The End" I can't believe that's how it ended. Not my type of read.

Ms Stewart does it again! I started reading this book thinking, “Oh! This could be fun! Long, lost love. I finished it wanting so much more of each character. Anxious to discover how they will grow and change. Great read!

Change My Heart by Danielle Stewart is a really good read. I hate that it is cliffy, but I expected it knowing there are two more books in the series. These characters are well developed and invested in the plot. I love the addition of Click and will definitely read more.

I would give this book more stars but there are a few problems. The first being that the author goes from first persin to third person quickly. I found it quite distracting until I got use to it. Both books stoups be combined into one and the seris just ends. With more development and a conclysion ti the stories and events it could be the best book I have read in a long time. Will we ever know what happens to the town and all the people. I would not have published this with out a wrap up and questions nswered. I was ver disappointed.

I thought this was a really good start to the series. You must keep in mind that this is a series and a “to be continued” into the next book. So much pain and anger for a man who is out for revenge for the wrong that has been done to him. It isn’t very often you get a free book from an unknown author to you that turns out to be a gold mind. You get two books in one for free which makes it work picking up the next one in the series. I love the audio and this narrator so I picked the audio up at a steal. This was a great listen it is full of suspense which the author and narrator had me hook from the first page. You will find corruption, betrayal, so much pain and anger, revenge and lost love. The author gives you a well thought out plot with wonderful characters who you can relate to. I know people do not like cliffhangers but when you get the first two free and you find a gold mind it is worth paying for the other.
Rebecca Roberts as always gives me a highly entertaining listen she puts so much into her audios giving you a wonderful clear listen free of background noise. There are no high or low tones just wonderful clear even voices. I love her voice and could listen to it all day. Her male voices are as wonderful as her female ones. It is so wonderful to put a voice to the characters they feel more real to me. I love how she bring the story to life as she puts emotion into her read never leaving you guess as to how the character feels or what they are thinking. She always delivers a high quality audio that is highly entertaining. It is always a delight to see her name on an audio I have decided to listen to. She truly has a lovely voice with wonderful character voices it is really surprising how many different voices she has that sounds so different and truly fits each character. This was an audio I couldn’t put down and can’t wait until book 3 comes out. I really hope Ms. Roberts is the narrator of those as well. You are going to love this narrator and what she brings to the listen.
I thought the author gave a wonderful plot with a well written story line that was believable. It didn’t take me long to get lost in this story and I can’t wait to read the ending. I am not one for cliffhangers but this one is well worth it. My heart went out to Devin who lost so much as well as his true love. I doubt you could listen/read this and not have some strong feelings. What people will do to get what they want will amaze you. Devin will have to make some tough choices as he decides what he will do in this action packed wonderful suspenseful read. This is a new author to me and I plan to read more of her work she delivers a very highly entertaining read that you will get lost in.

Enjoyed this quick read. Decent characters with good old-fashioned townspeople pulling together. The ending is not that bad - what happens is insinuated though not directly described...still good overall.
