Move over, Colin Firth - there's a new Darcy in town!

Jax Hawthorne is Hollywood's sexiest bad boy. I'm a glorified secretary who thinks color-coding my library is a wild Friday night. So when he shows up after all this time wanting to make good on our childhood deal to tie the knot, it's not because he can't resist my perfect credit score.

He needs a fake girlfriend to rehab his reckless image, and I'm the (safe, sensible) girl for the job. I would be insulted... if the proposal didn't come with an all-expenses-paid trip to England while he shoots a new movie version of 'Pride & Prejudice.'

Goodbye, my dumpster fire of a dating life. Hello, steamy nights with a chiseled hunk who knows all the right moves.

Soon, I'm knee-deep in the English mud - and on-set drama. But all our fake-smoldering is getting my very real panties in a twist. It turns out, Jax is so much more than just a reckless playboy. He makes me want to forget our 'arrangement'.. and break all the rules.

Can our pretend romance turn to something real? Or will scheming actresses, control-freak PR crews, and a pesky little thing called love ruin the best (fake) relationship of my life?

Find out in the hot, hilarious new romance from Katie McCoy!

This is a sweet HEA story. The characters are likeable and the story moves at a good pace. The editing could be better, but it's an overall good way to spend a rainy day.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book This is my first book by this author and I LOVED it! It was sorta like taking a vacation in England and I loved Jax and Penny so much. This appears to be #3 in a series, I  felt it easily stands alone as I have never any of the other books in the series. Penny and Jax met when they were 12 years old. They were summer vacation friends even though Jax came from a wealthy family and Penny a poor one. Penny's parents were happily married and Jax's a nightmare, so at 12 Jax proposed because friendship sounded better than love to him for a marriage. The two kids don't see each other until they run into the other at a bar one night. Penny is now in Finance and Jax is a hot movie star. Penny thinks he won't recognize her and he totally does. And they fall into lust.Meanwhile Jax wants this cool movie part but he is told he needs a more wholesome image and thats where he gets the brilliant idea to get a girlfriend named Penny and take her to England with him. Well Penny is more serious person and takes alot of convincing. I loved going on this adventure with Penny and Jax. They both are sweet and fun characters and I loved seeing England thru their eyes. I also loved their friendship and watching them slowly fall for the other. There were some great side characters like Emmy and prince Charlie. While this is called a comedy romance, I didnt laugh a lot but I did really enjoy this fun story.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review. Jax and Penny have been friends since childhood. Actually...they were friends then went their separate ways. No matter, though. Once they see each other again Jax proposes a deal to Penny to help him clean up his Hollywood image. You know the kind of image. The one where the boy is bad, bad, bad. Chasing skirts. Getting into bar fights. Those type issues that could cost the next biggest Hollywood star a role that would catapult him to the top. So Penny to the rescue! Oh but how much fun these two have in England and on set. There's always that one person, you know the one, who can't stand the thought of anyone else being with the leading man. Penny will always come out on top though - you know why? She's smart, beautiful, resourceful, and NOT vengeful. She doesn't need a man to make her. Though the relationship Penny and Jax develop in England seems real. It's always hard to really tell with actors isn't it? When do you really know they're being real? I think it would be hard to decipher in real life if you were meeting the real person or the one they thought everyone wanted/needed to see. Penny gets the last laugh though - and the man!

Jax Hawthorne is living the high life, he's a successful movie star and hollywoods bad boy a title which isn't helping his image and his new role as Mr Darcy, he needs a girlfriend and his old buddy Penny would surely do it. Penny is surprise to hear from Jax, it's been a long time, and as she has nothing better to do than traipsing around the English muddy countryside, she agrees. It's only fake right?.......Yeah! Sometimes, things that begin as one thing, change, and become something completely more complicated. An enjoyable story. The characters had to realize what they really wanted in life, especially Jax, he was so taken up with his role, he sometimes forgot to take Penny's feelings into consideration, and he didn't realize what he'd had until it was gone. A love story that shows the realization of life's selfishness' and it's consequences. I loved this wonderful tale, it was well written and it's HEA was a beautiful ending.
