Heaven Changes Everything: Living Every Day with Eternity in Mind by Todd Burpo, Sonja Burpo

How does a visit to heaven change your life?

Todd and Sonja Burpo’s almost-four-year-old son Colton made an unforgettable trip to heaven and back during the darkest, most stressed-out days of their lives. Times were tough, money was scarce, and the bills, frustrations, and fears were piled high.

How did Colton’s visit to heaven change things for them individually and as a family? And what does any of this mean for you and your life?

Todd, and for the first time ever Sonja and Colton, from their perspectives, share what has happened since the release of their New York Times bestseller, Heaven Is for Real. Through their own experiences, and after hearing from thousands of the more than eight million readers who have shared how the story has affected them, they show you how believing heaven is for real will help you survive hardships here on earth, including the death of a loved one or the loss of a child through tragedy, miscarriage, or even abortion.

Todd, Sonja, and Colton answer questions such as:

·      Is it really okay to struggle with and question God? Really?

·      What hope is there for me if I’ve lost a child or a loved one to death? Will I ever see them again?

·      What does heaven feel like?

·      Can I know for sure that I’m going to heaven?

·      Does God really hear me when I pray?

They also explain how their story can help you keep thoughts of eternity in mind in the midst of your own overly busy, stressed-out lives.

Heaven truly is for real, and believing it changes everything!

A nice follow-up to Heaven is for Real. I read Heaven is for Real about six months before my father died, which gave it extra meaning for me later on. What I took away from this sequel was the reminder of the peace that can fill our everyday lives when we live them in anticipation of the joyful reunion that is to come.

Good read, but not as good as their first book.

As a follow up book to Heaven is for Real I could not have asked for a better book. Todd and Sonja both did a great job on going back an explaining how they felt when everything was going on. I can say that I feel like a better person for reading each book and hope that there will be more to read by one of them in the future, hopefully inspirational! You will not regret getting this book or Heaven is for Real.

Disappointing and a lot of filler... sorry Pastor Burpo, most of us want to hear about Colton not you or your wife and what you are doing.

I like their first book WAY better, I had a hard time with this one keeping my interest. It did have some good parts but I found it somewhat boring too because of how often they talked about their first book....I did't need to read that again I already read that book.

Is this book as good as their first book, "Heaven is for Real"? I loved that book and I am looking for another book like it, because it was soooooo good.

I was swept up in the national news frenzy just like most other people, the one called 'Heaven Is For Real'. I read that book, and loved it, so when Booksneeze offered this one to me I jumped at the chance to review it, and i'm glad I did! Todd Burpo is an excellent writer, and this book and Heaven is For Real helps give you faith that there is a god out there. I highly recommend this to everyone, and really think it's a great read, especially for all Christians - I just got this book a couple of hours ago, and already i'm posting my review, so that's proof that it's a great addicting read! I received this book from Thomas Nelson for review.

This book just shows me even more that everyone can have the promise that Jesus made for us! I look forward to seeing Jesus in Heaven and spending eternity with God! What a beautiful book! What a true heart opener...anyone reading this book can change their life for Jesus!

I really really liked Heaven is for real. It made me stop and think about what heaven would actually be like. I have always believed in something existing after this life, and a divine being that organized this, but never could picture it. Not only did I enjoy the book, I made my husband and mom read it as well. It provided many great dinner conversations. I was thrilled to read a follow up to the story I loved so much. It was an interesting follow up to how the family reacted to the publicity of their previous book. Challenges faced with meeting parents of children who did not survive their illnesses, and wondering why. I don't think this book met my expectations in that it didn't provide a lot of new information and stories, but more so a reaction to them. I think I would have appreciated this book more if I read it RIGHT after the first one. I think it just didn't make me stop and think like I was hoping that it would.

This was good, but did not have near the impact as the first "Heaven is for Real".

There must be a way in this tech crazy day and age for Barnes/Noble to identify these kids that hold conversations on book reviews, and cancel their account! No I don't care if it is parents account, maybe they should do a better job holding their kids accountable for their actions!

It is a good follow up book to Heaven is for Real. It is good to hear the perspective of the parents as they reflect on what Colton was telling them. At times it can be a slow read but in the end it well be worth it.

I was truly enthralled by this book. After having read "Heaven is for Real" this was the logical subsequent book and it did not disappoint. It is great Lenten reading!
