One morning while living in Florida, I awoke and the first thing that popped into my mind just happened to become the first line of the book that I would be writing. I didn't know where it came from but it was “The sun asked the moon to come out and play, the moon said “I'll see you at the end of the day.” I found it intriguing so throughout the day I kept adding, subtracting, and tweeking ,and after a few days it finally came together. I'm not an accomplished artist but have always been artsy. So I decided that pastel would be the best medium for my project, as it would allow me to soften the edges of my drawings as they appear when looking up into the sky. All stars, moons, and suns were done freehand which lend to the elementary look for the audience intended. I now live in N.C. and when I showed my book to my friends, they said I had to pursue this project and get it published. Everyone that has seen and read my book has really liked it, especially the children. One mother said her little boy takes it to bed every night after they read it. I'm very glad that my friends have kept me focused, I owe them a lot.
