OMG! How can I give this more than 5 stars? It’s more like 10 stars! SO good there are no words but … Intense. Jaw Dropping. AMAZING! Didn’t get to see much of my favorite character X. But, I love Rodger and Michael. Loved it and can’t wait for Deliverance!!

Outstanding book. Hell Divers l set a pretty high bar but Hell Divers ll knocked it out of the park. Once again Nick has scored a home run. Everything he writes is great. His imagination and storytelling ability is at the top of the game. Highly recommend any book Nick writes.

So so much better than the first book and it was awesome. Great action, lots of intrigue, lies and secrets. Some insight to how the sirens and other monsters came about was great to read. I really liked the addition of Timothy to the story and look forward to seeing more of him in the next book. Speaking of the next book I now wish this wasn't a trilogy as I don't want it to end so soon, speaking of soon, next year for book 3 can't come soon enough. An absolute page turner of a book

I fell in love with Nicholas' writing in Extinction Horizon, and the series that followed. Hell Divers was a new tale with with a fantastic topography. This here Hell Divers 2: Ghost, just reminded why I love his writing. The action never lets up. There are new creatures to run from, and a new place to explore. You don't know who is friend, and who is foe. And you certainly won't see the ending coming. It's writing like this that makes reading so much fun.

If you’re on blood pressure medication, you might want to swallow that pill just prior to reading HD2. This remarkable series continues to ramp up the suspense. Ten years after Xavier “X” Rodriguez was left behind on earth’s horrific surface, the dwindling survivors aboard the airship Hive are running out of time. Strong writing and an ingenious plot line meld to create an outstanding work of post-apocalyptic fiction!

After the ending for the first book, which nearly killed me, I was clapping my hands in stupid glee when I read the beginning for this second book. I got all silly, talking out loud to myself about how good this was going to be. It’s many years later and there’s some new divers in town. They don’t have much of a life expectancy and recruits are always needed. When disaster strikes the sister ship and a risky rescue is attempted, no one could have foreseen what was to come. The conspiracies that would be revealed. The secrets kept. And…what horrors waited below, on the surface. Man, I hope they make these books into movies. They are freakin fantastic. Action explodes off the pages. Creepy things scare the crap out of you. Suspense has you chewing your fingernails. And the character’s grab hold of you and won’t let go. Is this book as good as the first one? Hell yes! And I’ve already pre-ordered the third one. Now waiting anxiously for it to be released. Stay tuned.

This was my most anticipated release of the year and NSS didn’t disappoint. From a genre standpoint this series really adds a fresh twist to the post-apocalyptic story and coupled with balanced description of action, environment, and characters makes it a page turner. Also, I tend to enjoy it when main characters are not invulnerable to being killed off, but with a good touch of heroism so in HD2 you won’t be sure who’s making it back to the ship, or hell for that matter if the ship is going to stay afloat! This was an impressive follow up and I’m convinced the upcoming 3rd installment will live up to the standard set.

I have mixed feelings about Ghosts. On one hand, I liked the action and loved hating on the new Captain. On the other hand, there was hardly mention of the one character from the first book that I really liked, most of the story focused around minor characters from it that I didn't particularly care about, and the crazy got old pretty fast. I spent most of my time waiting for the author to get back around to the characters I wanted to hear about, and that just didn't happen. However, I will say the POV choice regarding the Captain, given the issues involved, was a good one. The Hell Divers series is an interesting one. I love the concept that Nicholas Sansbury Smith created these novels from. A post-apocalyptic Earth is nothing new. But generally humans have migrated to the stars, or they're wandering the earth in small patches. A world where the last remaining humans are floating above the earth in giant airships? Yes, I like this! I want to read more! Ghosts is a book filled with emotions that run the gamut from obsession to vengeance. The first book left us with a sense of hope for humanity. This one not so much. I suppose there is something to be said from the introduction at the end of the book, but the situation still feels very bleak. Readers can only hope that the author delivers a pulse-pounding return to hope and victory in the final book. R.C. Bray does a good job narrating Ghosts. While Bray's vocal range isn't very wide, his voice is a pleasant rasp to listen to, and he is able to communicate emotions (particularly sarcasm) clearly. His delivery is well-paced and nicely suited to the science fiction and horror genres. Overall, Ghosts was a well-written book but it didn't particularly satisfy me. It, like so many other middle-of-the-trilogy books, suffers just a bit because of it's role. I have no doubt that Nicholas Sansbury Smith is going to pull something epic in the final book, though, that will make up for the bridge that Ghosts is. And I can't wait. Disclaimer: I received a copy of the audio book of Ghosts from Blackstone Audio for review consideration.

Such an amazing sequel to the first. Like the first, I just did not want to put this book down. The story line is unique and highly engaging. I can't wait for the third book to come out....I have to know about my favorite character. I would highly recommend this book. If you haven't read the first then I would say you definitely owe it to yourself to do so. I look forward to reading other books from this author while I anxiously wait the next!

The new novel in this trilogy really plays with the emotions, from anger to relief. Nicholas has once again turned out an amazing story. It shows that there is hope for the future of mankind as long as there is trust and teamwork. Highly Highly recommend!!!

OMG, where to start? NSS deftly closes some story plot lines from HD1, then opens up related plot lines in HD2. I was caught up in the thrilling action scenes with the Divers vs. monsters, and was taken completely by surprise of the plot twist indicating the origins of the monsters. NSS takes me through to a climactic ending, yet leaves the front door open to an intriguing continuation for HD3. Nick is one of the best writers I've read in a long time. He'd combined the the likes of Issac Asimov with Steven King or Dean Koontz. I've already pre-ordered book 3! Get the books, you won't regret it!

I had been eagerly awaiting for the second book of Hell Divers and was not disappointed in the least! The action was gripping and felt very real. We meet some new characters which I really liked and finally found out what happened to X. The book is set 10 years since the ending of the first book so we are treated to a grown up Tin and the man he has grown into is awesome! It's an even more desperate world in which the survivors of the human race now live and they continue their struggle to survive. I love the world the author has created and am really looking forward to the third book!

So many twists and turns, and I absolutely loved it. Not in my wildest dreams could I come up with these ideas. NSS has done it again and the book is phenomenal! You have to read Helldivers 2!!
