Hello Junk Mail! by Ted L. Nancy

Who is Ted L. Nancy? Is it Jerry Seinfeld as many believe? Or is Ted L. Nancy someone else? Mr. Nancy’s hilarious, notorious Letters from a Nut series documented his correspondence with celebrities and companies, who took his outlandish ideas and suggestions at face value. In Hello Junk Mail!, Nancy tackles one of the most pernicious evils of the modern age: the junk mailer. Now writing with the Kabobbys of Glendale, a newly arrived foreign family and their relatives, Ted and his new neighbors answer scores of junk letters with riotous results. Responding to a solicitation from a pest control company, Hamooli Kabobby requests that they eliminate his freeloading cousin, then tells the pest control company about his family problems of body odors and stinky backyards. Geela Kabobby writes the distributors of free instant breakfast samples to ask if they cure eye infections. Grandfather Bahir Kabobby writes to a mortgage company: "Yes, I want financial freedom and healthier toes." Laid out as copies of the actual correspondence, the letters are as authentic as they are ridiculous — and all are wildly entertaining. So who is Ted? Jerry Seinfeld or The Kabobbys of Glendale?

There is only one Ted L. Nancy and he proves again just how funny he can be. Ted is on top of his game here. Not only does he tell the story of a very funny family, but he unfolds it before our eyes through actual junk mail correspondence. Pretty innovative, I think. I didn't just laugh hard, I also felt a sense of revenge against these incessant junk mailers that keep popping up on my computer and overflowing my mailbox. You got to give Ted credit for coming up with something completely different. Who else but Ted L. Nancy can find comedy gold in junk mail?

Ted is da Man! Another harvest moon has passed up here in Nor. Cal. My medical growing scrip is all worn out til next season...ya dat's what I'm sayin' you rasta impastas--but I'm the real deal! Mr. Ted he get me through the bad economony all the way through the late summer months...the REALLY bad times. If you know what I'm sayin, you know, but if not read on for the wisdom of this book. I and I say this book is SALASIE funny. It's got all sorts of crazy characters, cavorting around evil HELL-A, stressing and proving that the laid back way is the ONLY way for Mankind. Jah Rasta!! In dis book, deys little funny boys, funny old men, Judge Joe Brown...all kinda crazies bein' crazy and STRESS-in about a grill, a prison, a tickle here, a Starbucks there. I recommend it for Xmas. Because if you're like me, your family just don't understand, and this book will get you through the holiDAZE and have you squirting egg nog out your nostrils right on top of your favorite herbal medicinal. And THAT, my friends, is a bad time but a good memory.

Peace out,

Bud Boy

I would have to say that ¿Hello Junk Mail!¿ is one of the freshest comedy books I have ever read. And absolutely hysterical. I like the fact that it is different then the earlier Ted L. Nancy books. He wrote 3 of those books (¿Letters From A Nut¿) and they were great but it¿s nice that Mr. Nancy has expanded and tried something different. This book was hugely funny and it was fast paced. It kept me interested the entire time I was reading it. It is hardly boring. That it is not. I was laughing from the beginning I started reading it until I put it down. It is different then the ¿Letters From A Nut¿ books in that there¿s a story that connects all the junk mail; not just random letters. That is what kept me so engrossed. If you like Ted L. Nancy and his writing style then you will definitely like this book. I would have to say I liked this book even better then the ¿Letters From A Nut¿ books. And I really love those books. This book is that good!

Ted L. Nancy has come through again with a terrific, funny book. Hello Junk Mail made me laugh a lot. I really enjoyed that Ted tried a different approach on this one - that is ANSWERING his mail instead of SENDING LETTERS which he has done in the past. His other books were truly funny and I have read them over and over again and out loud for guests. But this book just went a step further for me. I loved it!

I read this book on a plane recently and liked it so much that I actually gave it to someone sitting across from me that I just met on the plane. She was a teacher and I wanted to share this book with her and tell her she should recommend this to her students. I hope she did so the word can be passed along that this is a funny book.

Ted L. Nancy is a favorite comedy writer of mine. I have read all the Letters From A Nut books and have shared them with others. I bought this book recently and shared it with everyone at work. We all laughed out loud at the funny letters in this book. Everyone gets junk mail but Ted created a family to answer their junk mail. Wow! This is a funny, funny book. People were grabbing it out of my hands and taking it away. Then we would all hear laughter from their desks. I hope Mr. Nancy keeps it up. It's been too long since we got a new Ted book and I hope he writes another Junk Mail book like he did with his Letters From A Nut Books. Hello Junk Mail! is a great book to give you a big laugh!

I was so looking forward to this book because I loved Ted's letters from a nut series, but this book doesn't even come close. Ted's other books rely on a responce while this book is one sided. The idea is good but it simply doesn't work. Read Ted's letters books and leave this one on the shelf.

This book is different from the earlier Ted L. Nancy books. I like those books, but this one couldn't keep my attention.
