in help wanted you actually get two romances for the price of one. the only thing is, that you don't actually realize this until you've hit the middle of the book. and i'm not sure that's a good thing. zane and kenley start out as our original leads. and midway through the book it feels like the author decided there wasn't enough story to stretch her word count target, so the love story of michaela and brady is added in. but this leaves both romances feeling somewhat undercooked. and it's hard to get past some of the character's actions when you don't have enough time to fully explain or provide context for why they've done what they've done. in the end, i was kind of lukewarm about all these characters. so it's hard to say that i would have liked this story better if each set of leads had gotten a full novel of their own. there were things i liked, but more i didn't in this one. **help wanted will publish on september 12, 2017. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/kensington books (lyrical shine) in exchange for my honest review.

What a totally absorbing book from author Allison B. Hanson. Help Wanted is entertaining right from the beginning, and the high-speed boat ride never lets up. The two primary characters, Kenley Carmichael and Zane Jackson, have remarkable chemistry, and their romantic courtship is replete with discovery, desire and love. Ms. Hanson is a talented storyteller and her words kept me wanting more. This is the first book from the author's "An on the Job Romance" series, and it can be thoroughly enjoyed as a standalone. After being wrongfully terminated, Kenley is actively looking for a new job. She ends up leaving Manhattan to work for New Haven Custom Boats, where her hot new boss prefers to interact with her via text and email. Kenley loves her new position as an Executive Production Coordinator, however, being alone in the office on most days is quite lonely. Kenley's beauty and brains are a winning combination, as her ideas for saving the company money and time are proven successful. Zane has never been lucky in love. Kenley reminds him of his high school crush, which never amounted to anything but heartache. As a result, he is less than thrilled about hiring her, but his very pregnant sister gives him no choice in the matter. Kenley does the job perfectly and adds more value to his bottom line than he ever thought possible. Overtime, he let's Kenley in and their work relationship evolves into true love. I truly liked this book, and the developing love connection between Kenley and Zane was quite charming. I immediately connected with both of them as individuals and as a couple. The secondary characters were unique in their own right, which added a lot of background story to the present happenings. I especially liked Zane's older sister Sidney, because her bossiness showed how much she cared. Overall, this is a terrific read and I can't wait for the second book in this brand new series. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

3.5stars I must say that I expected a whole different story as it turns out to be. I expected that it will be funny and amazing but it was not. Both Ken and Zane are great characters but they are both so afraid and big cowards. If it was not the Brady and his story in between I would speed read this one and gave a lower rate. In a way, I was a bit of disappointed that Brady story was suddenly inserted in. Because those two were really interested and hat potential for me better than Ken and Zane.Ther was too many words of how afraid they both are and of course, Ken coping with the attack was annoying to read again and again. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Help Wanted by Allison B. Hanson An On The Job Romance Series #1 Two romances in one book. Kenley Carmichael, fired from her job for something she did not do, eventually ends up working for Zane Jackson. She is eager to learn everything she can about boats and is hopeful this will be a good job for her. Zane sees Kenley as the dead ringer of the girl he crushed on in HS and remains leery of her for most of the book. The second romance is between a man working for Zane and someone he meets while visiting a relative in a care center. This book had a LOT going on it but nothing that was new or different from many other romances I have read. It was an okay read and entertaining but did not have the WOW factor that made me care, think, question and want to be friends with the characters as I got to know them. There were some threads I could not relate to but have a feeling some readers of this book will find meaningful/helpful. I felt at times that Kenley and Zane were acting more like they would in high school than they probably would be at nearly thirty and that said am thinking perhaps this is geared more toward NA readers even though the characters are a bit older than most in that genre. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books-Lyrical Shine for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3 Stars
