I absolutely loved this book - Mari is so strong and fun! And Luke struggles to do the right thing even though he's clearly an outlaw and ex-felon. They team up to uncover the truth about their siblings and the story just sucked me right in. Very interesting and engaging and well written, I highly recommend it!

Great book! This is Mari's story, the first of the Menace's story. What fun! Mari is a great heroine, and Luke is an exceptional hero. We have everything from joy to terrible sorrow in this book. A great villain! It's also wonderful watching the city and state grow and develop. Loved it!

Good story about three sisters and their stories of their love life and drama that follows them. Funny in places, drama, romance and action.

I read this book a couple of years ago. It was an enjoyable, fun book and I ended up reading the entire series. When asked to review this recently, I wondered if it would be as good the second time. The answer is yes...it was just as good the second time around. I love Mari's boldness and strength. She really makes Luke work for their relationship. Their repartee moves the book along quickly. While this book is good as a stand alone, I recommend reading the previous books in the Bad Luck Brides series to develop the full flavor of the McBride family.

I'm not a big fan of historical books, but I will read them if I like the author, and I like Emily March, so I gave this one a shot. It starts out kind of slow, but once the main guy, Luke Garrett, is introduced, I got more interested. I love when the characters are a little cocky, arrogant and humorous. He was all three. The main female character took a little more time to develop, but I liked the relationship that they shared. There was some suspense, which I really enjoy, and a little bit of magic, also. So, this was an entertaining read, just had a little bit too much that was unrealistic towards the end. All in all, it was worth the time to read =)

Luke Is a Fraud of The Best Variety Luke does not let his families template dictate who he will become. He is honorable, even though he's painted a picture otherwise. He loves without fault. Mari is secure in the outcome of all situations she is trying to arrange. Together they accomplish the world ! That in it's self is amazing book ! But, there's more. The passion scenes written into this book along with the witty sarcasm had my heart soaring at the same time I was chuckling ! Don't expect to get much sleep while reading this, it's a page turner to the very last page.

Mari McBride is a Menace! Luke Garrett is an outlaw, a dangerous man. Things aren't always as they seem. This is a sassy, funny, interesting and a little magical historical novel. It had me smiling most of the time I was reading it. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. Can't wait to read the next on of the series. Highly recommend!

I loved Mari and Luke. Mari and Luke were raised differently, but both are loyal to their families. Luke is cursed with a trouble-filled family and Mari with a very loving family. Mari and her sisters are told that they can get rid of the bad luck that has plagued their family for generations, yet they continue to have bad luck. So when she meets Luke, she thinks he is an outlaw and therefore safe to "play" with. She knows that she will never be able to get serious with an outlaw. Her father would never allow it. There is more to Luke than meets the eye. He is a very good man and he wants Mari for his own. Can he get past the fact that he is no good for her and her father would kill him if he took advantage of her? But, that doesn't stop him from wanting her.

The McBride Menaces are back. Now grown, their problems are adult ones, but no less menacing. As with all of the Emily March books, this is an enjoyable read with a nice mix of intrigue, humor and romance.

A Grand Adventure in the Old West In HER BODYGUARD, Emily March offers a grand adventure, dangers around every turn and a family curse to conquer. Maribeth McBride is all grown up and doing her best to live down her childhood reputation as a McBride Menace, the nickname for Mari and her two sisters raised by their single father in Fort Worth, Texas, a decade after the Civil War. Although it’s fun to flirt with Luke Garrett, Mari knows this outlaw has no place in the life she wants to carve out for herself. March is at the top of her game when presenting close families and all the dynamics important to these relationships. Both Mari and Luke are well-developed characters that are easy to like. A great read on its own, HER BODYGUARD is even more fun after reading THE BAD LUCK WEDDING DRESS, which introduces the McBride Menaces as young girls. HER BODYGUARD lets us catch up with Trace and Jenny McBride, whose romance started the series, and see how all three girls have grown.

This was oh so entertaining !!! Mari and Luke's story has so many exciting developments happening that you are spellbound to read it straight through. I loved this story and all the other Bad Luck stories that have been written by an incredible author. Can't wait to read the other two sisters Emma and Kat's stories.
