Rarely do I write reviews, but this series of books has provided a lovely glimpse into history combined with liberal doses of romance and mystery. I count a book good when it evokes suspense, sighs, and now and then, a giggle or two. Well done, Cynthia Wright!

I've been reading Cynthia Wright's books for nearly 30 years. I'm re-reading the whole series for the xillionth time. Each time I finish one I say, "Oh, they're my favorite couple" and "That was my favorite one". That didn't change with Natalya, but I think they might be! I love Grey (I'd choose him as my favorite, I think) and Natalya is a beautiful independent heroine. I just have one novel left to re-read in the Beauvisage/Raveaneau series, until Tempest (to be re-named) is released and I CAN'T WAIT!

I first met Cynthia Wright's NATALYA in my trade paperback copy, which I was very excited about because I was able to get a matching copy of her mother's story, CAROLINE. (These little details are very important to us obsessive readers.) Now I get to revisit Natalya Beauvisage in her spiffy new ebook format as HER DANGEROUS VISCOUNT. And yes, Grey St. James is dangerous. Twenty-six year-old Natalya, daughter of Alec and Caro Beauvisage, has been living in France for the past six years as an authoress in her Uncle Nicholai's Chateau du Soleil. While she loves France and loves writing, she is starting to miss her family and home in Philadelphia. Grey St. James has escaped from prison and makes his way to Chateau du Soleil for assistance in getting back to England. Since Grey held Natalya at knife point during their first meeting, needless to say she is not fond of him. But it seems that they can help each other get to England and then go on to Philadelphia. As to be expected, Cynthia Wright blends humor and meticulous details into the story. This historical period is the War of 1812/Napoleonic Wars and the reader gets a strong feeling of time and place. Whether it is your first read or your fifth, HER DANGEROUS VISCOUNT is an engrossing story, giving you a chance to revisit old friends from other Rakes and Rebels books and cheer on Natalya and Gray.

Very boring...it was nice visiting with characters from previous books, but natalia was not a person i could relate to. She was also immature, impractical, and self-absorbed...it was fun at first but by the time they boarded his ship to return story between main characters became boring until the last third of book...disappointed..im still a fan cynthia wright's tho and will buy the next book in this series!

I love reading books of the 1700-1800's. This one did not disappoint me. Lots of suspense, romance, humor and a litle history thrown in. I highly tecommend reading it.

A 350 page free romance book of a 26 year old American young woman who is becoming an author of romance novels in a five year visit with her aunt and uncle in their French chateau, and the daring English naval officer that escapes Bonaparte's prison. And thus begins the romance and adventure of a headstrong virginal beautiful spinster, and an escaped prisoner of war from France to England to America during the Napoleonic War and War of 1812. Drama, adventure, temper tantrums, humor, sexual abuse, sexual romance, and explicit sexual encounters, and, of course, more drama. An excerpt of another romance in this series also included.

I like this author. I've read her books that preceded this one and I'd recommend them all. 4 stars because it seemed to go on and on in the end.
