Her Heart for the Asking: a western romance by Lisa Mondello

"Ms. Mondello presents a beguiling story that keeps you turning the pages...Truly a joy to read." Susan Mobley - 4 STARS - ROMANTIC TIMES MAGAZINE

Mandy Morgan swore she'd never step foot in Texas again after Beau Gentry left her for life on the rodeo circuit eight years before. But now her uncle's heart is failing and she has to convince him that surgery will save his life. She never dreamed the first thing she'd see when she stepped off the plane would be her biggest nightmare...the one man she'd never stopped loving.

Beau Gentry had the fever for two things: the rodeo and Mandy Morgan. But for Beau, loving Mandy was complicated by his father's vendetta against her uncle. This led him to make the hardest decision of his life and he can still see the bitterness and hurt on Mandy's face. All these years it has killed him to think Mandy had forgotten him and moved as far away as possible from him. But now they're back in Texas, and he's going to do all he can to win back her love.

I thought the book was okay however it was to drawn out meaning she held on to to much an was kind of childish. Not a book I would read a second time or recommend rushing out to buy, was slightly disappointed

A simple storyline and weak characters. Ok to just pass the time, but I won't buy any future tales.

It had potential... The characters were good but if the book was a little longer that would have helped. aar

Short, fast read It is a short story which makes it a fast read for someone wanting just that thing. I didn't read it to be as shallow as others have written so I'm not sure we read the same story. It's free, so give it a try.

They spend the hole time not talking And suddenly they are in love???? I gave this 4 stars however because the ending is very heart wrenchingly romantic! Not a horrible quick read.

A good read. Yes, there are unanswered questions. One would be why her mom never told her who her biological dad is. But that is not the main focus of the book. The main focus is the relationship between a girl and a guy and what a relationship goes through. To give up a rodeo championship for the love of his life? Wow!

There was so much story left untold in this short less than 100 pages. Some things off were about the ages and years of happenings; didnt quite flow. Also several misspellings and messed up sentences. The worst was the million times "eight years" was used. Mandy came back to the ranch to learn how to run the business for uncle Hank. She never did that. That could have easily been incorporated into the story and made it a little longer. She also never went out to see the actual barn that aunt Corrine had painted for her. She also never addressed "why her mother never told her". Alot of loose ends.

Worth your short read! Liked the characters. No annoying barbs and no unbelievable rush as they reconnect. You root for them but it's ok if it's not their time. Great pace as the story develops. The landscape is a character of its own but not over done. Inviting and vivd ranch.
