Cat Logan, a young American with a recent degree in medieval literature, travels to Scotland to discover her roots. She finds more than she bargained for when a mysterious silver casket (rumored to hold the desiccated heart of a long dead Scottish laird) transports her back in time to the 1400s and the man whose heart she holds in her hands.

Note: This novella is intended for mature readers.

I enjoyed this story of Cat and her Laird. It had the possibility of being a very good novel if the author hadn't short cutted her way through every conflict she posed. It passes the line of believability, admitted a very difficult thing to do in this genre when ever problem works itself out in less than a page. Also short stories should advertise themseleves as such. I would not have paid five dollars for fifty pages of text.
