I really enjoyed reading Her Secret Agent although this story was complete it was only 62pages. The other pages consisted of excerpts from 2 other books-Hungry Like a Wolf& Her perfect mate each gave you 5 chapters in each book by the time you read them you were hooked to buy the other books which I did and wasn't disappointed these books were good.

I seriously love the concept behind these shifters. But I can't tell you exactly why they are different - it's fun figuring it out on your own. Cree is a shifter that has some very special skills, skills that John from the DCO (Department of Covert Operations) thinks will be nice to have. At least that's what they both say going into their first meeting. They quickly find out that there are a whole lot of somethings running beneath the surface - including an incredible sexual attraction. But, Cree's shifter status and John's reasons for recruiting her may prevent them from figuring out if they could be anything more. This is a very quick wham bam thank ya ma'am type of story. We have a couple really good fight scenes, a little bit of suspense (the story just wasn't long enough to really draw it out), and a really hot couple. I do wish that it had been longer - but I understand that it was a prequel to set the stage for the future books. Great start - I know I want more now!!

Good novella length to introduce the X-Ops series. Loved the character interaction. They worked well together in all aspects. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. Ms. Tyler knows how to write a good book that pulls 'you' into the action.

Her Secret Agent by Paige Tyler is a prequel novella to her X-Ops series. I am a fan of Tyler’s X-Ops series, and this prequel gives us an insight into the Director of the Department of Covert Ops, John Loughlin. It was a great read, and I loved the two leading characters. John has been eying Cree Forest for some time, in order to recruit her into DCO. He arranges to meet her at a restaurant to offer her a job. After studying tapes of Cree, John sees things that lead him to believe she is more then she comes across, as he thinks she is a shifter. All the more reason for him to want her in DCO. Cree is a beautiful woman, very confident and sure of herself. She turns out to be a great heroine. The chemistry between the both of them sizzles immediately when they meet. What John doesn’t know is that Cree has been following him also? The story becomes very exciting from the moment they both walk out of the restaurant, as they come under attack. John learns quickly that he doesn’t have to protect Cree, as she is a strong force by herself. What follows is an exciting story that hooks you in from the first page, right through to the end. While they decide to work together to find out about the surprise attack, they both succumb to the combustible sexual energy between them. There are some twists, as we learn more about certain characters and DCO. Her Secret Agent was a fast paced, action filled, and sexy as hell story. If you have read Paige Tyler’s X-Ops series, you will enjoy this short story. If you have not, it is time for you to start, with the first book, Her Perfect Mate.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!  The cover is nice, but not as good as the other books in the series that I have, but haven’t read yet :)   I needed a quick read while at the ER today with my mom.  This is a novella in the series.  I picked it because I have the other books in the series in paperback, and my mom and grandma have already read them and said they were great reads :) Paige does a fantastic job with her descriptions, and it is easy to picture everything while you read.  This is a new world for me and definitely one that I want more of. John and Cree are a great pair and full of adventure.  I’m hoping I will see more of them in this series as I read.  Cree is a fox shifter, and she is very spirited which I love.  They are both strong and have each other’s backs which is always awesome. I recommend this book to my shifter friends who love alphabet soup agencies mixed in with their shifters :)

John Loughlin, the Director of the Department of Covert Ops, has been keeping a close eye on Cree Forest, a gorgeous woman who definitely displays superior abilities, aside from being a shifter. What John doesn’t know is that Cree has also been keeping an eye on him.  I was hooked from the very first page! Cree Forest is a supremely fascinating character; Ms. Tyler describes her so well, I could picture her clearly. HER SECRET AGENT takes place about 10 years before Her Perfect Mate, it’s a tremendously exciting short story and very sexy as well. HER SECRET AGENT gives us more insight into both the X-Ops and SWAT series. There are 2 lengthy excerpts: one from the Her Perfect Mate, the first X-Ops book, and one from Hungry like the Wolf, her upcoming book from the new SWAT series. HER SECRET AGENT is a delightful morsel to tie you over until Ms. Tyler’s next book comes out. Paige Tyler has the most exciting shifters around, and she is a fantastic storyteller!

If you haven’t read the exciting new series X-Ops by Paige Tyler you are in for a treat.  Her Secret Agent gives us a sneak peek into the very private life of John Loughlin, the Director of the Department of Covert Ops.  John is the guy standing between the EVA’s (Extra Valuable Assets, aka Shifters) that work for DCO and those who would control or kill them.  Turns out the EVA’s aren’t the only ones with secrets.  Her Secret Agent is another fast paced action adventure from Paige Tyler and I loved it.
