New author to add to my list. Well-written, good character development, good (and believable) chemistry between the main characters, overall enjoyable read. Also key is that this is a WHOLE story, a finished book, and even though there will be more books in the series, this is not a teaser or a come-on just to sell more "parts" of the story. I laughed out loud at parts of the book, smiled at others, and found myself tearing up at times as well. I'm always glad to find an author to add to my list, and I found one in Susan Meier.
Morbidly depressing and predictable. 100 pages could've been taken out of the middle and it wouldn't have made a difference. Furthermore, the title is misleading. Yes, the hero served time in the marines but it was so far removed from the story that it didn't even factor in. His service in the marines was only mentioned maybe 3 or 4 times and for no other reason than to state that he had been in the marines. It was irrelevant to the story.
