Overview

Here Comes Trouble (Nothing Special Series #3) by A. E. Via, Jay Aheer

Detectives Mark Ruxsberg and Chris Green are very good at their jobs. Being the enforcers for God and Day's notorious Atlanta PD Narcotics Task Force causes the crazy duo to get into more trouble than they can often get out of. The pair never misses out on an opportunity to drive their Lieutenants crazy with their dangerous, reckless, and costly stunts, landing them in the hot seat in front God... often.

Ruxs and Green love their jobs and they don't mind the very demanding schedule that leaves them little time for socializing or dating. It was fine with them, they enjoyed hanging out with each other anyway.

However, most of the men in their close circle of friends and colleagues are pairing off and settling down. God has Day, Ro has Johnson, and their Sergeant Syn has Furious.

For the past several years, Ruxs has only sought out the advice and company of one person, his partner and best friend Green, and vice versa. Both of these alpha males are presumed straight, but neither can deny the heat that's building in their once 'just friends' relationship.

I was looking for something to read and went in search of the cop & bad guy type. I ended up purchasing "Here Comes Trouble." Right off the bat I liked Ruxs & Green. They were rough and tough yet had a soft side. I loved their connection with the younger guy, Curtis they took under their wings. Ruxs' mother was horrid! When Green sent him outside he laid into the mother insisting she go into rehab and in no way was she to contact Ruxs till she was out of Rehab and off the drugs. I knew sooner or later Green & Ruxs would become more than work partners. But working up to it was like pulling teeth. I wanted to say, "Come on tell Green how you feel." Boy! When they came together it was like fireworks. I loved how everyone pulled together for Curtis when he lost his mother. Every part of this story kept you glued to the page never wanting the story to end. Now I would like her to continue with more of the badass cops. I think this new guy Michael will be a plus but I hope A.E. does not lose contact with Ruxs & Green. They are my favorites. Not that God, & Day aren't terrific in their roles. Who could not approve of this duo? I highly recommend "Here Comes Trouble." Fantastic read!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Embracing his Syn (Book 2 in this series) was the hottest novel I had read this year... until I read Here Comes Trouble. Somehow, this book is even hotter, sexier, and just as captivating. This story takes us to partners Mark Ruxsberg and Chris Green. They are enforcers on a notorious special task force, and they are hot, so freaking hot. They've both been focusing on their careers and silently pining for each other, unaware of how the other feels. Their little affectations towards each other are endearing. When they give in to their desires, the sheets melt and your heart will clench as they fall in love. The peripheral story is also equally captivating. Seeing them at work, their camaraderie with the other members of the task force, their interactions with their families, and their relationships with the others will make you love these guys. When things fall apart for a kid that helps out at the police station, they step up and take him in and you love Mark and Chris even more. The story is very fast paced and wonderfully written. Time will pass quite quickly and you'll be turning the pages so fast. This is also a great love story, full of laughter and touching moments. I am loving this series and look forward to more.

Four and a half stars I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads. I enjoy reading A.E.Via's books. They are sexy, thrilling and entertaining. She captures lots of action to keep you interested. This one didn't disappoint, it had hot alpha men throughout the whole book with an exciting storyline. There was humor and a good sense of family. The secondary characters played a large part in this book, even though they have their own books. Ruxs was a hard working man, very dedicated to his mother. Green was a very caring good friend to Ruxs, who stood by him through a very hard time with his mom. Green took responsibility for a young boy, Curtis, like he was his own, when he was just a kid in trouble. Green and Ruxs spent all their free time together even after being partners all day at work. It was great reading as Ruxs became aware of his feelings. It was exciting how they faced life threatening situations and then could be so loving towards each other. There was so many times I was either laughing or crying, because the story got you so involved. Definitely a must read book. Sherry

This is Ruxs and Greens story, Ruxs is dealing with a lot of personal drama between his mother and his feeling for Green changing. Green has always known he loved Ruxs, and has known he was bi-sexual so he can handle these feelings. He also knows Ruxs is not into guys so he tucks away his feels in exchange to keep his friendship alive. Green sees everyone around him happy, and wants to know if he can have that too? Can’t anyone love him? Just breaks your heart.  Just like in A.E. true fashion this story starts out with a bang! We have Ruxs and Green tearing a path through downtown Atlanta on the heels of an informant.  There is a large drug shipment coming and the team wants to stop it. Slice into God giving them what for, in true God fashion once they get back for all then damage and mayhem that they caused… again.  What I really love about this book, unlike the others, this one deals with more personal issues, and the job side is secondary. All of our favorites are back, God, Day, Curtis, Ro, Vicki and the rest. The connection that Ruxs and Green are so magnetic, you can almost feel it coming off the pages. And the tumultuous relationship between Ruxs and his mother, the way Green becomes his fierce protector HAWT!  And the twist at the end! Well done, A.E. this went into my re-read pile.

adrienne hit it out of the park again with this one. i liked it as much as nothing special. i literally said 'aw' out loud so many times during this book...just made me sigh. of course these guys are alpha badasses but when their sweet comes out, it just gives you the feels. ruxs is struggling...with his relationship with his mother and with his newly discovered sexuality. he wants more and he's pretty sure he wants it with his other half - his partner green. he just doesn't know how to tell him. i don't want to give too much away but man, when he finally let's green know...oh man that was a great scene. green has been in love with ruxs for a while but has hidden his feelings because ruxs has never shown interest in men and he'll take him any way he can have him. he is fiercely protective of ruxs and is just so endearing.  curtis - the kid that god & day caught robbing a store way back when - plays a big role in this book and i absolutely love not only him but his part in this story. and there is some nice foreshadowing of things to come for him leaving you wanting the next book right now! god, day and syn are in this book quite a bit and just as great as always. vicky plays a big role too and she's pretty great still.

This was the first in the series that I've read. WoW. A fast and furious passionate ride. If only there were such hunky men in blue. That's why we read these fictional stories though. Will definitely look into more by this author.

Here Comes Trouble (Book 3 in the Nothing Special Series) by A.E. Via!!! Detectives Mark Ruxsberg and Chris Green are great at what they do and are hot guys and I mean hot. They are the enforcers of God and Day's Atlanta Narcotics Task Force. They are constantly in trouble with their reckless and dangerous stunts. Everyone in their friends group are settling down and now Ruxs and Green have something to think about. These guys are best friends, work partners and thought to be straight but now they find themselves facing certain feelings about each other. Ruxs and Green have worked so well together and come to depend on each other very much. Ruxs starts having feelings for Green and he's so afraid to share them as it might alter the great friendship they share. One night something happens to Ruxs and he shows up at Greens place, all bloodied and through high emotions, certain secrets are revealed and it changes the dynamics of their relationship. All I can say is the scene with Ruxs and his drug addicted mother was one of the hardest reads due to the cruel and vile things she said to him but was the most brilliant writing I have come across. The authors beautiful description of the characters and sub-characters and how she develops such an amazing novel was just simply brilliant. How she brought Ruxs and Green from best friends to boyfriends was so seamless and it flowed so organically. I thought it was such a great change from the typical MM/Gay novels where the angst is usually between the gay son and father to big time conflict between Ruxs and his wicked mother. It was so realistically and heartbreakingly done that it left me quite emotional. I enjoyed the sub-story of Curtis, the young boy that Green takes on and how they love and protect him was so sweet to read. I for one couldn't get enough of this beautifully and so well written novel and I didn't want it to end. I truly recommend this book...Here Comes Trouble by A.E. Via for everyone who wants to read a great novel filled with hot detectives, angst, drama, intrigue, unconditional love and heartfelt emotions. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading “Here Comes Trouble”.  Ruxs and Green grabbed ahold of my heart from the very beginning.  I loved how they were best friends and horsed around and wrestled.  It made me chuckle and see the special connection they had. I also loved how they became dads to Curtis.  The whole gang protecting Curtis made me smile and love the bunch even more.  I was a little put off by the way Ruxs and Green fumbled through finally admitting their feelings to each other.  Although it did make me chuckle when Ruxs had Green join him on his date.  Thinking back, a lot of parts of this book had me laughing out loud.  Other parts had me wanting to cry, Ruxs mom.  Overall, I loved this book as much as all the others in this series.  I would love to read more about all these characters, especially Curtis and Gen. 4-Bombs Reviewed by Tracy

Its a good book. I'm somewhat taken by surprise that some of the verbiage or scenes are taken from movies like Bad Boys. In one of her other books books some written scenes are similiar to Training Day. But overall its an exciting read.

Overall it's a good read, but it has a few too many similarities to Bad Boys II. Kinda surprised the author can get away with that.
