About the Author

Michael Dylan Welch is a board member of the Redmond Association of Spokenword, and has published his poetry in hundreds of journals and anthologies in more than 15 languages. His own publications include poetry, essays, reviews, and such books as tranlsations from the Japanese. Michael is vice president of the Haiku Society of America, founder of the Tanka Society of America, and cofounder of the Haiku North America conference and the American Haiku Archives. He also founded National Haiku Writing Month (NaHaiWriMo), held each February. His websites are and He lives in Sammamish, Washington.
