We have beginning readers in our family so we are always on the hunt for new easy to read books to encourage their newly acquired skills. The I Can Read! line from Zonderkidz has many great selections in the different reading levels. Right now we are on level 2 which is designed for developing readers that need a little bit of help. Heroes of the Bible Treasury is a compilation of six I Can Read! books from the level 2 group. The six stories include: The story of Noah and the ark. Joseph and his dreams. Moses leading his people to the promised land. The story of the prophet Elijah. The bravery of Queen Esther in the face of evil. And finally the miraculous conversion and ministry of Paul. We have been using the Adventure Bible for Early Readers for our Bible time. Heroes of the Bible Treasury uses the same art work so it is very familiar to our kids. I think that helps them commit to memory the content of the story. Another thing that I like about this book is that it gives my kids a beginning feel of chapter books. It makes me smile to see how excited they are to use a bookmark. I'm thrilled with the sense of accomplishment the kids get as they make their way through this book. They feel like they are reading a big kid book, but it is still at their reading level so they are also encouraged in their reading journey. I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

Heroes of the Bible Treasury by David Miles is a collection of six stories conveniently compiled into one book. The stories included are Noah’s Voyage, Joseph the Dreamer, Moses Leads the People, Elijah, God’s Mighty Prophet, Brave Queen Esther, and Paul Meets Jesus. Each story tells about an amazing Biblical character in an easy to read format. The illustrations in each of these stories is very colorful and really brings the story to life for the reader. Though I had previously done a review on one of the stories in this collection, Paul Meets Jesus by David Miles, I am happy they have included it alongside the other hero stories. I am always looking for a way to teach my son about the Bible in a way that he can really connect with. Not only does David Miles accomplish this, but the best part is that my son loves that he can read them on his own. He has proudly declared that his favorite story in this collection is Brave Queen Esther because she was brave and asked God for help. My absolute favorite part of each story is the very last page titled “People in the Bible” where facts are given regarding the main character of the story. This page gives even more opportunity for parents to talk to their kids about the Bible. I highly recommend any of the Adventure Bible stories for anyone who has kids or grand-kids. I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Heroes of the Bible Treasury is an awesome book for kids! Heroes of the Bible Treasury is a level 2 I Can Read Book and perfect for newly independent readers. My daughter absolutely loves that there's six books in one so she can pick out a new one to read each time. Her favorite thing about Heroes of the Bible Treasury is that she can read them on her own with very little help from me. She picks Heroes of the Bible Treasury out to read every night before bed and practices reading. If you're looking for a way to encourage kids to read, this is it! The illustrations are incredibly fun and vibrant making reading this book a blast. Disclosure: I received product(s) for free, in exchange for my honest review. I only recommend products I've used personally, and believe will be good fit for consumers.
