Overview

Her family or her heart? She made the wrong choice once before. Can she survive it a second time?

Because of one bad decision-a no good, lying, son-of-a-bitch of a man-Kira Jackson became estranged from her tight knit family. She would do anything to rebuild the relationship with her bear clan instead of the life she is currently living. Alone. So when she meets the sexy shifter, Nash North, it doesn't matter how hot he makes her blood boil. She's not about to make the same mistake twice.

From the moment Nash lays eyes on the curvy, sassy she-bear, he knows she's something special. She's also trouble, because Kira is the exact opposite of what he should be looking for in a mate. With every instinct in his body going wild, his animal is unleashed with a ferocity Nash has never experienced before. He's not just attracted to her, Nash needs her.

Kira can't deny the attraction between them, but she can never let anything happen with Nash. Certainly nothing serious. While the man is a sexy as sin, he's too cocky for his own good, and worst of all...a wolf.

If Kira gives in to the need that runs through her veins, she'll put everything at risk-including the possibility of ever reuniting with her clan again. Faced with the impossible choice between love and family, Kira must learn whether to trust her instincts or whether she's destined to make the same mistake all over again.

I've only read 2 or 3 shifter books and none of them really did much for me. I took a chance with this one because I love so many other Elena Aitken books. It was a good easy and quick read that I enjoyed. I liked the characters and I liked the bear/wolf mating combination. I also liked the ending which of course left it open to go further with another book.

I want to say that I normally only read contemporary books. I absolutely love Elena Aitken's contemporary books. I was skeptical about reading her bear series, but when I was offered the chance to read an arc of this book, I said yes. Best decision ever! I love Kira and Nash's book! Now, I need to catch up with the other books. This book grabbed and held my attention throughout the whole book. Do yourself a favor and one-click Hers to Take.

This is the fourth book in this series and I've loved them all. This story is about Kira Jackson and Nash North. Kira made a horrible choice in loving someone who her family had warned her about. In doing so she lost her family and in the end it hadn't been love, but all lies. Lately she had been missing her family even more and she found that she missed her twin brother the most. Their connection had been severed when she chose someone else over him. Noah didn't want to sacrifice his whole life for his family so going out on his own was one way to find what he was looking for. Finding Kira was a surprise and something that caused many family complications along with the love. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Another amazing story by this author. I couldn't wait for this book and I was not disappointed. Kira's story had me hooked from the start. Her and Noah are perfect for each other! Thoroughly enjoyed, and I highly recommend it!

Although not my favorite reading subject, this was a good read. Story and steam, good light read.

I’ve read the first three books in this series, and yes Hers To Take is a standalone, so I was looking forward to reading about Kira Jackson. She is the last of the siblings in the Jackson clan and a twin to Kade. I’m not going to retell the background or story as the author does it so much better than I can (in just a few sentences) but I will say that Kira and Kade turn out to have a stronger twin link than I have ever read in a shifter story. I found it fascinating. This book is about Kira and her meeting her (ultimately) fated mate, Nash North…only Kira is a grizzly bear and Nash is a wolf. Yup, chaos ensues! There is their story and then there is a story about each of their families – and how both these characters have to come to terms with old and new family “norms” and values. Really in-depth character growth, some crack me up moments, and a bit more of that twin link I wrote about earlier. Oh yeah. Kira has three brothers who are all alpha to the max, when it comes to their little sister. I really enjoyed this story, loved the series, and I hope that Ms. Aitken writes more shifter stories in the future. I know I will read ‘em!
