Overview

Hidden Love by Trista Ray Michaels

This love story involves a legacy handed down from a father to a less than caring son. Willis Garrison had been disgruntled with his father Glen for years. Following his death, Willis felt no need to return home for his father’s funeral. After receiving a copy of his father’s will and personal journal, he quickly glanced over them, but then pushed them aside. It was no surprise that he had been left with the family ranch in Arkansas, but he was amazed at the stipulations placed upon him. In spite of the time constraints, he took a couple of months before acting upon it. Finally, after reading his father’s journal, he found something much more intriguing than the ranch, and realized he had to go home to see if it was worth laying claim to his fortune.

It was a good storyline but the lack of contractions and when one letter of the word would be on one line and the rest on the next line was distracting.

This book reads as if the author couldn't decide whether to write a Christian novel or a trashy romance, so she tried to combine the two. And it didn't work. At all. Grammatical errors abound, and it is clear that the author either heard or read words used somewhere else, and decided to throw them into this book with no regard to their actual meaning. The incongruity was a bit humorous, the plot had potential, but this story is so poorly written that it isn't worth the time spent reading it.
