Number 4 in this series. These are more like chapter books, each bringing a different character of the story into focus. This particular leg of the journey deals with Colin's sister and not him. Good read, will continue on....

She would be mine, and mine only. My beast recognized her as something more.  Why had I expected him to be different?  But I knew he didn’t want to let me go.  WHOOOOEEEE!!  Now THAT was one helluva story!  So much emotion compressed into this short story that I am shocked it didn't explode!  I am loving these little 'interludes' of Sarah's.  I was intrigued with Caitlyn and her 'situation', her reasons for being where she is at the beginning of the story.  Sarah was able to give so much of her history, her background, in such a way that while the story keeps moving forward you still learn all you need to know about her.  And what a history she has!  I couldn't help but want to console her, protect her and at the same time step back and let her fight her own battles.  Dougal.  Dougal, Dougal, Dougal!  YUMMY!  Now HE is a shifter I could love!  The way he does things, treats others & his pack mates, never mind the whole Caitlyn situation!  I absolutely loved how Sarah tells this story!  The Scottish aspect to it - that part was AWESOME!!!  Somehow Dougal being Scottish just makes him even hotter!  But then when he 'relaxes' his control - okay, when he loses it - and starts speaking full-on Scottish, well now he is as sexy as he could ever be!!  LOVE IT!!  Even though this is a brief story that is very loosely tied to the other stories, I enjoyed it immensely and loved the small parts that do link it to this series.  Now if I could just convince Sarah that all of these people - shifters & humans alike - all need their own full length stories – emphasis on the plural - at the very least, then I would be one super excited and contented avid reader/stalker!  I am loving Mia & Ethan's story and don't like that it keeps getting 'interrupted' with other stories so I figure if everyone has their own book, at the very least one book, then it would just be soooo pawfect!  I hope that we get to revisit Scotland a LOT!!

The author did an excellent job with the book she developed the characters well. Caitlyn a wereleopard has returned to Scotland to help her brother Colin a werewolf who has been held captive. Once she arrives at Colins home she runs into extreme trouble with a werewolf named Alistair who does some real damage and takes her captive. She realizes that she knows this dangerous werewolf and has to deal with some emotional issues. While being held captive in a cage she meets Dougal the packs Alpha who wants some answers. Where will all this intrigue, violance and desire lead? The books is packed with questions, action, violence and hot sensual desire, and definately left me wanting more. I can't wait to see where these characters go in the next book in the series. I was given this book and just asked to give an honest review. I really enjoyed this read and could not put it down until I finished it.

THE WOLF'S MEOW ??? Wowza! Sarah Makela has once again demonstrated her amazing talent and incredible skill with another exhilarating addition to her Cry Wolf Series. Highland Moon Rising is exciting, thrilling, riveting, imaginative, well written, well develped, smart, sexy and romantic. The characters are fascinating, engaging and intriguing. Highland Moon Rising is the fourth book in the Cry Wolf Series and although the four books in this series are somewhat stand alone, I personally believe in order to truly enjoy each book, they must be read in order. We learn from the first three books that a heinous group of scientists and mercenaries have orchestrated an evil plan to capture paranormal beings to use them in an experiment to weaponize them for a government contract. Caitlyn's bother, Colin, was one of the werewolves who was rescued from the facility and is on his way back home to Scotland. Although Caitlyn is a wereleopard, she still loves her werewolf brother very much and has traveled to his home in Scotland to make sure he is safe and unharmed. While awaiting his return, she is discovered and captured by members of his pack who, let's just say, have strong opinions about feline shifters. And to make matters even worse, she has gone into her heat cycle. Oh my! Everyone knows that wolves and felines don't play nicely together! Or do they? I don't like to give spoilers but I will say this......Beautiful brave wereleopard-check! Sexy alpha werewolf-check! Danger, drama, suspense and enemies from the past-check! A little romance and angst-check! Wonderful entertainment and a satisfying read!
