About the Author

Hannah Howell is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of acclaimed historical romances. Howell, twice awarded the Golden Leaf Award, has been a Romance Writers of America RITA Award Finalist, received RT Book Reviews' Career Achievement Award for Historical Storyteller of the Year, and has had her books on Amazon's Top 10 Romances of the Year list. She lives in West Newbury, Massachusetts with her family. Visit her website at hannahhowell.com.

Deborah Raleigh is the pseudonym for novelist Alexandra Ivy. As Raleigh, she writes historical romances including the Vicar Humbley series and the A Rose for Three Rakes series, as well as Lord Carlston’s Courtship, The Wedding Wish, Some Like It Wicked, and Seducing the Viscount.

Between stints as a corporate financial analyst, marketing consultant, public librarian, wife and mother, Adrienne Basso has parlayed her vivid imagination and desire to tell romantic stories into a writing career. Regency England is her favorite time period and thus far she has set all her historical novels during that elegant time. She enjoys the challenge of creating stories that emphasize the everlasting strength and power of love and is truly delighted that her characters always achieve the fantasy of living happily ever after. Looking to expand her horizons beyond the realm of history, she has recently sold her first contemporary novel, which will be published in November 1999.

Adrienne and her husband, both native New Yorkers, now make their home in North Plainfield, New Jersey, along with their two sons. In her spare time she likes to pretend that she is an organized, efficient, dynamic super-woman. It doesn't always work.

I had never read Hannah Howell's books but am a big fan of Stephenie Meyer, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kresley Cole and Diana Gabaldon. Great read because it's an anthology of three, well-written stories featuring, you guessed it, hot, old world vampires. If you like historical romance, the twist on the supernatural is awesome because it adds an element of magic t the characters.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I had to say it three times because finally three authors wrote three stories for the same book which were really good. While I enjoy reading short stories now and again, I find it irritating that only one or two of the stories are actually good. Well, this is not the case for Highland Vampire. In the first story, an unwanted romance is stirring between the devilish hero and a tamed tigress. In the second story, a bride is robbed of her wedding night only to be haunted in her dreams by the ghost of her fiance. In the last story (my personal favorite), a brave young girl is determined to find a way to end the curse only to find herself trapped in the arms of the beast! I just love rugged men with a lot of bite! :) Enjoy!

¿Kiss of the Vampire¿ by Hannah Howell. In 1478 at court Janklyn MacNachton sees Efrica Callen for the first time in three years and realizes he still desires her. When two lords accost Efrica, he intercedes. She makes it clear she wants him, but he offers this wealthy heiress nothing but darkness that will eventually become the light that he sees deep in her soul................................. ¿His Eternal Bride¿ by Adrienne Basso. In 1321 Anaxandra watches the wonderful Highlander lead his men to a slaughter of the English. Afterward the creature of the night slips into his keep and has her way him. The McCloskey clan blames the death of their chieftain on his bride Callum. They lock her away in an isolated tower where she dreams of seeing her beloved once more. As she begins to believe he still lives in a shadowy place, Callum debates joining him in his realm................ ¿To Tame the Beast¿ by Deborah Raleigh. Bane the Beast of MacDonnell is cursed to live a lonely existence so he forces each generation of the Foster clan to give him the oldest daughter when she turns twenty-one. Kathryn will be the next sacrifice shortly, but her younger sister Isobella challenges Bane to leave them alone, but is stunned to find a handsome man rather than a monster. He is shocked that the lass will do what no warrior has done in centuries get into his face and no woman ever before get into his heart...................... These are three delightfully biting vampiric historical Scottish romances that will leave the audience thirsting for more bloodsucking hunks and passionate women who tame the beasts..................... Male vampires from the Scottish highlands and all set in history. This belongs in the historical fantasy section where the history doesn't resemble real history. All of the men are huge and the women are tiny and they can't resist each other. It's readable but forgetable.

I have read most of Hannah Howell's books and continue to do so because the world is full of unhappy endings. But Hannah's books are always a happy get away with great endings. I don't care to read about reality all the time. It really stinks sometimes. But if you are a romantic and like wonderful romantics stories, Hannah Howell's books are a good idea. Also, I have read complaints about the Scottish vocabulary. I am Scottish and love to read the way the old Scots talked. These books are fun and hard to put down.
