Calla Stewart has never had a more difficult client. The laird and lady of the castle are delightful, but the handsome Highlander holding the purse strings is quite impossible. Since she specializes in holiday magic, Calla hopes she can make the scrooge-like wolf lighten up. A Highland Wolf Christmas (Series: Heart of the Wolf , #15) This story is Guthrie & Calla's.  Calla is being stalked by her ex fiancee Braid and the MacNeill clan are protecting her.     Guthrie has been wanting Calla for years.  And now he is trying to do the right thing and give her time to get over her ex because he does not want to be in a rebound relationship.  Been there done that. Calla is a "party planner" and is organizing a Christmas Party for Julia the wife of Ian and clan laird. If you like Scotland, sexy highlander who shift into wolves, laughter, a bit of sword play and romance then you will not want to miss this awesome story.  Terry Spear has done it again

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 3 3/4 REVIEW:  Another good Highland Wolf story by Ms. Spears. I enjoyed reading about Guthrie & Calla. These two were fun to read about in Hero of a Highland Wolf when Calla stole Guthrie boxers and hung them up on a pole. From that moment on I knew these two would be great fun to read. And of course the did not disappoint. Both are coming off of bad breakups and both are a little gun shy about a new relationship. Yet they can’t seem to keep their hands and lips for that matter off each other. So rationally the only thing to do is court right? Unfortunately the pass and the people in it keep coming back to try to hurt Calla. But that doesn’t stop them from having a great story.  I am looking forward to the next installment in the Highland Wolf series.  Favorite scene: what is a male wolf to do when trapped under a Christmas, while trapping the she wolf he is interested in under him? Well kiss the hell out of her of course. hehehehe Love it. Kissing under the Mistletoe my but, new holiday tradition kissing under the falling christmas tree.  Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley & SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

~ 4.5 A Highland Wolf Christmas Stars ~  Most of you should know by now I am a FAN of Ms. Spear. Her work is always a go to read for me. What I like most in her shifter books is that each story is unique. I never feel like I am re-reading the same thing over and over. It’s always fresh wither we are meeting old friends or new. Secondly I love that each character has their own personalities, quirky traits and fun loving family and friends. Third her writing flows effectively pulling the reader into the world, characters, and plot. And fourth each book can be read as a standalone. I always look forward to more of Ms. Spear shifter books! I was so excited to finally get Gutherie MacNeill’s story. He was introduced in Heart of the Highland Wolf along with all his brothers. I loved how he is so uptight and a stickler for finances that he will consume himself in work. I always wanted to find out what women would finally break him of his habit and pull him out of the work-a-holic shell.   Calla is introduced in A Highland Werewolf Wedding where we see her as Cearnach MacNeill’s friend. She runs a party planning business, so she is in the business of spending money which is the complete opposite of Gutherie. Calla is a strong character with a good head on her and great friends that help her find the mate she has been looking for. Even if you have not read any of the other books you will not be missing out. The author does a fantastic job of filling you in on each character and relationships. I like the author’s sense of humor and the Scotland sense are breath taking. The romance building is sweet and I loved their first kiss. It was a heartfelt moment. We have some suspense in that Calla is being stalked, though that storyline was light and at times felt added just to push the story along.  If your new to paranormal romance, love alpha wolves, or a nice light read; then I recommend giving this book or any of Ms. Spear work's a try.  Disclaimer: Copy won from Sourcebooks Inc. through Goodreads with the sole purpose of an honest review. The story had many thoughts that didn't go together or with the story. It was poorly written. I did enjoy the Scottish Christmas traditions.

I'm glad that I got to read A Highland Wolf Christmas since it has been awhile since I've read Terry's work. Fifteen books in and she still packs in a lot of detail, a lot of romance and complicated twists to keep her readers entertained. There were a few things I would have liked to have seen expanded on or cut out but I liked that despite it being a Christmas story we still get a healthy dose of drama following our characters who are trying to find their way through the difficult process of matching and mating. Terry is a great writer that brings her wolves to life and gives her readers great hero's to fall in love with and heroines to envy.

4.25 stars--A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is the fifteenth installment in Terry Spear’s contemporary, adult Heart of the Wolf paranormal romance series focusing on the shifter wolves of the Scottish Highlands. This is event planner Calla Stewart and financial advisor Guthrie MacNeill’s storyline, one that began in book fourteen –Hero of a Highland Wolf- where Calla ‘stole’ Guthrie’s boxer shorts and ran them up the flagpole. A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS can be read as a stand alone storyline. Many of the previous storyline characters play secondary roles but any important information is revealed when and where necessary. Told from third person point of view, the storyline focuses on the upcoming Christmas celebration. As the MacNeill Clan make preparations for the holidays, they bring in their friend and events coordinator Calla Stewart whose personal life is spiraling out of control. Having called off her wedding and mating to Baird McKinley, Calla finds herself being stalked by the very man from whom she left standing at the altar. Enter Guthrie MacNeill-the wolf who would steal her heart and become her mate-if only they survive the coming attacks. The premise follows the building relationship between Calla and Guthrie but both are coming off of recent disastrous courtships with other wolves. Their attraction to one another is immediate but neither one wants to jump into another relationship fearing heartbreak and rebound emotions.  While the preparations for the holidays get under way, Calla’s ex fiancé has plans of his own that involve getting Calla back-at any cost. The world building continues using the backdrop of the Scottish Highlands and Argent Castle, as well as the continuing story of the MacNeill Wolf Pack and their growing family.  The secondary characters include many of the previous storyline couples as well as Calla’s family and a number of rival wolf pack members whose goal is to see Calla returned to their Clan. A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS is a story of betrayal, revenge, heartbreak and hope. Terry Spear pulls the reader into a seductive tale of action, romance and suspense during the holiday season and Christmas festivities; where two people who have lost find love with one another. Terry’s wolves will tweak your imagination and set your mind onto a path of hopeful futures.

She was getting ready to attach a figure of a longhorn steer wearing a Christmas hat, compliments of Shelley's mother's Texas collection -- and thinking of how fun it was to see decoration from the various newcomers to the pack -- when she heard Guthrie shouting. Deep, frustrated shouting. And cursing. Claws scrambled on the stone floor, boots tromped at a run toward the great hall, and then disaster struck. Women shrieked and shouted, but Calla was on the other side of the tree where she couldn't see the commotion. But then she saw the twelve-foot tree toppling over -- right toward her. Before she could get out of the way, something hit her hard from the side and slammed her against the floor. Just before the tree landed on top of them. He was on top of her, smelling like the great outdoors, fir tree, and musky, sexy male wolf, Guthrie. "Sorry," he mumbled against her ear, branches framing his head and touching the floor on either side of hers. "I meant to rescue you." She smiled. "From... the tree? A HIGHLAND WOLF CHRISTMAS by Terry Spear is an highly entertaining trip back with the MacNeils' wolf pack in the Scottish Highlands at Christmastime. LOL! I love snow in books and this one has plenty of that white stuff complete with frosty snowball fights! Even though it is the fifteenth book in Terry's Heart of the Wolf series and there are interconnected characters, this book can be fully enjoyed as a standalone if that is what you prefer. That said, I highly recommend reading all the books in this series as they are all delightful! I love Terry's Highland wolves! This fun tale is the story of Guthrie MacNeill, the financial adviser for his clan, and Calla Stewart, a party planner. Guthrie has always been a dear to me - so I'm really glad he's finally wangled his own story. My full review has been posted to Reading Between The Wines Book Club.
