Explored here is the collaborative work of two Scottish photographers, Hill (1802-70) and Adamson (1821-48), who were pioneers in almost every area of the medium. Out of the 460 images the J.Paul Getty Museum holds, this book presents 50, with interpretive commentary by Anne Lyden. Also included is a condensed transcript of a 1997 discussion by several curators and photographers on the accomplishments of these two artists. A brief chronology completes the book. 6x7.5".
