When life gets you down...
Kayla Riggs is three weeks from graduation and has yet to have one college experience worthy of a memory, let alone a story to tell people later. Her BFFs make a deal with the player next door-show Kayla how to have a little fun before she settles into a life of mediocrity.

Hire a player to pick you up...
Jake Swanson only has a few weeks left as a cadet for the Bainbridge Island Fire Department before he can take his practical exams and be hired on permanently. The last thing he needs is a group of crazy women insisting he grant his cute-yet-boring neighbor three insane wishes-one for each week left of school. The only kicker is that she can't know about the wishes or the deal is off.

When they offer him a deal he can't refuse, he agrees to show Kayla how to have a little fun, and in turn has a lot more fun with her than he expected, or wanted. Now he must choose between keeping his word, or losing his heart.

"If you are looking for nonstop, heart-racing action and sizzling romance, look no further. Allie K. Adams will take you there-and more!" -Lucy Monroe, USA Today bestselling author

I love Allie K. Adams books.....sexy hot and humorous!! Hiring the Player is book 2 in the Campus Players series. This time around we have Kayla Riggs, business administration major in college and Jake Swanson, a hot sexy cadet firefighter. Six months after the two have a one night stand, Kayla, feeling down, spies Jake in a bar. Sparks fly when the two gaze into each others eyes from across the room. Kayla has always been a girl that plays by her own set of rules.....Jake is about to change all that, 'cause he's a rule breaker!! After a freak accident gets the apartment building they both live in condemned, the two are talked into living together, temporarily. Kayla's three BFF's "Hire" the very sexy Jake to "take care" of Kayla for the next three weeks. He is to fulfill three wishes bestowed upon him by her friends without Kayla's knowledge. What happens next is a wild ride to say the least. Kayla & Jake are a perfect match...she needs to learn to take a chance and let someone love her and he needs to let someone take care of him for a change. This was such a sweet love story. We get revisited by Grooming the Players couple Emma & Ryan. Emma's BFF Britt and Kayla's friends, Shannon, Ciara and Mel are all great additional characters to this story. I'm already looking forward to the next book in this awesome new series and recommend this great read to those who love a good laugh, hot sexy love scenes and a happy ending!!

Overall Rating:  4 Rockin Stars Kayla sees herself as a Plain Jane, just average in every way except her ability to succeed in college.  Jake is a player and likes not have commitments his only problem is that he can’t forget his one night stand with his neighbor Kayla.  Kayla can’t forget the feeling of betrayal after her one night with Jake when he acted like she was not even there.  When Kayla and Jake are forced to share an apartment for a month things really start to heat up.  The apartment house they were living in caught on fire and everyone had to move out and find somewhere else to live.  Jake’s Captain at the firehouse, offered a two bedroom unit on campus that he had been saving for his son.  Jake decides this might just be what he needs to improve his reputation at the firehouse.  Now all Jake needs to do is convince Kayla to be his roommate. The fun starts when her three best friends agree to pay Jake’s part of the rent if he will grant them three wishes for Kayla. They are concerned that Kayla takes everything too seriously and needs to lighten up and Jake is just the guy to pull that off.   He has to agree not to tell Kayla about their arrangement and not have any other girls for the month that he lives with her.  No problem right? Jake cannot believe that everyone is trying to interfere in their business. First her three best friends and their three wishes and now his friend Britt.  They were only going to be together for one month.  Just until graduation and then they would both leave and go their own way.  Right then why does it bother Jake to think of Kayla with some other guy?  Jake and Kayla find themselves moving more toward each other and a lasting relationship.  Will Kayla leave her past and the feelings of being inadequate and trust Jake? Can Jake prove that he wants more than just a one night stand with her? ~CJ Hero –Jake Swanson: 4 stars Heroine –Kayla Riggs: 4 stars Steam: 4 stars  Plot: 4 stars  Cliffhanger: No Would I recommend this book: Yes! This book is a fun look at college hookups and the chance meeting of two hearts that are meant to be one.  Would I read other books by this author: Yes! I have really enjoyed all the books that I have read by this author and cannot wait for the next book. ***Received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***

This follow-up to Grooming the Player makes a wonderful addition to the Campus Players series with a storyline that's familiar yet fresh due to the immensely likable characters. Kayla's a serious-minded young woman who plans everything and with graduation just around the corner her life seems set in stone. She finds comfort in order and wants nothing to disrupt that, especially love. Her caring friends have others plans for her though in the form of sexy Jake and his promises of decadent delights. Kayla's not an outgoing character at first due to her devotion to order but as she and Jake get closer you see a more fun and caring side emerge. Jake is a player but deep down we find a caring soul who falls for Kayla quickly and pulls out all the stops to win her over. You'd think he'd be superficial but he has surprising depth and turns out to be the quintessential boyfriend that I easily fell for. This was another delightful story from Ms. Adams with a nice flow, engaging characters, and steamy interludes. The secondary characters, primarily Kayla's friends, were equally strong and I wouldn't mind seeing more of this crazy group of gals. We also get a welcome appearance from the previous installment's main characters who have a moment of great turmoil that caught me off guard but made me root for them even harder. From start to finish this was another satisfying installment to Ms. Adams enthralling college-set series and I look forward to many more books to come!

Short and hot - in more ways than one - a fun storyline and awesome characters. I adored Jake. He's a firefighter. He's protective - wait until you read why he lives where he lives - he can cook, he's a hero, he's a player. Or he was. He has fallen hard for Kayla, a stubborn, control freak who fights him every step of the way. Kayla was more difficult to like, she's rigid and regimented but she has a good heart and though it takes awhile - a long while - we get to see who she really is. I liked Jake and Kayla together. Not only can they not keep their hands off of each other they are good for each other, the rule maker and the rule breaker. I loved Kayla's friends, crazy, daring, and supportive, more like sisters than friends. I so want to read their stories. Emma and Ryan also show up, not that you need to read their story, Grooming the Player first, but you'll fall even more in love with Ryan in 'Hiring'. As much as I enjoyed seeing them again Adams scared me with what happened; I swear that if things had gone differently I would have stomped on my kindle.
