His Baby Bond by Lee Tobin McClain

Battle for a Baby . . .

Poor-but-proud Kendra Forrester doesn't need an arrogant millionaire to tell her how to raise her sister's baby. But when handsome Zeke King arrives at her Colorado cabin demanding custody of his brother's child, strategy dictates that she let him stick around.

Battling mountain weather and the baby's illness brings these two opposites together, but their own insecurities, their dead siblings' secrets, and a jealous former boyfriend threaten their tentative bond.

Only their faith in God--and the Sacred Bond Brotherhood--can help Kendra and Zeke form a family for their baby.

Read it one sitting!

This is really a "Pulpit Parable" masquerading as a "Romance" novella. Everything appears to have totally contrived to present the "lessons" devoid os reality. Puleeze...a highly successful international businessman who leaves his computer laying around, unprotected by an effective password, with equally unprotected e-mail? Elders? Sounds like a commune on smoke, and a husband and wife creating a leagally written will providing for the care of their offspring and then modifying it by themselves? Or experienced skiers venturing out in avalanche conditions? Just Un-be-lieve-able! , and therefore, the lessons!

A whole lot of moralizing about Jesus & religion combined with the usual misunderstandings between the main characters. Thank goodness it was fairly short so did not take long to read. Very predictable.

I only got past the first thirty pages and had enough. The story is one part formula romance; one part sexist and one part sermon equaling unbeievable characters and a poor story. Christian romance can be done well but this isn't.

Zeke,Kendra and Sara. This is a nice short story with Christian romance. It's showing you can loose faith and regain it with help of a loving person. ZJR

Kendra is raising her deceased sister's baby. Zeke shows up and wants custody of Sara. Kendra is poor and mad at God for sister and her brother-in-law deaths. Zeke is rich and feels his faith in God will be a better home to raise Sara. Will they be able to work out their differences or have to let the courts decide? Wonderful book.

This is not a cliffhanger. What is Christian? Does a belief in God make you better than others? Does a belief in Jesus give you the knowledge of directing others to live as you do? Is a Christian so endowed with God-like wisdom that they have earned the right to judge others? I am Buddhist. I converted when I was 12. In my life philosophy I practice tolerance. I do not judge others' life choices unless their choice impacts my own life. In that case, I do speak up to give my side and feelings. I married a Christian. He was a young adult minister and his belief in God has made him as tolerant as I. He never judges others' life choices but he does voice his opinion about the lifestyle of others who abuse those around them. He laughs and says we're evenly yoked... Zeke was not a Christian, in my opinion. He was judgemental of everyone. He condemned his parents, Sara, and Cleo. The author wrote Zeke as though he belonged to the Westboro Baptist Church who allowed their leaders to corrupt the teachings in the Bible to fit their guidelines, instead of living their lives in a Christian manner. I was very disappointed of the harsh judgemental tone of the book. The Christians in my circle would never have had the audacity to assume that their mode of belief in their God was the only way to believe. They treat others with "God's love". They leave judging others to their God and do not presume to take that task up as their right as Christians. I do not recommend this book because the judgemental tone would make it a hard book to read with joy for those who leave judgement up to their God. For others they may take the saintly tones as Christlike and become as judgemental of fellow human beings....

And for him to be So religous he was very judgemental of everyone

I appreciate not having to wade through smut, but this was maybe too much the opposite. Kind of unbelievable and way too preachy, even for a Christian story.

Found this a good read, enjoyed.

I love that it didn't ignore natural attractions but wasn't porn. Books don't need sex scenes if the characters are well developed and there is a good plot. I think I'd prefer just a little less scripture inclusion.

This was a very tactful romance! Slow in pace, but with unexpected turns!

I know many christians and not every conversation is so preachy. Found Zeke to be self righteous and judgemental about people and situations w/o all the facts. Found fault with anyone who didn't measure up or meet his criteria. Kendra just seemed lost. May try another one in this series but if the tone continues to be so rigidly judgemental, will not continue with the series.

Well written story that captures your interest from the opening pages. The Main Characters are real life and draw you in. Lee's gift with words make the story come to life.

Christian message for those that get frustrated where Satan tries to discredit GOD'S love for us.
