I'd say I'm down on my luck, but that's an understatement. I'm flat on my ass. Homeless, hungry and in hiding with my little sister at the age of twenty-one, I've never been so desperate. I've hit rock bottom when I get an offer I can't refuse. Sell my body to save my sister? There's nothing I won't do to keep her safe. I make the rules and I'm not afraid to defend myself if this rich guy crosses the line. But once I see beneath his cold, calculating façade, the lines aren't so clear anymore.

She's an intoxicating mix of tough and vulnerable I've never known before. This homeless woman who fits right into my upper-class world is running from someone powerful, and I'll do whatever it takes to protect her. But Quinn isn't meant to be controlled, so I'm forced to choose between owning her and loving her. I've finally met my match, and I'll do whatever it takes to make her truly mine.

## ASTOUNDING. Wow, how I loved this book. I could not put it down. It's after 3am and I know I'll be so tired when my alarm blares at me in a few hours. TOTALLY WORTH IT. The sparks fly between hero and heroine. They are perfect together even if it took them a few weeks to figure that out. It was really fun reading about these two falling for each other. Quinn was strong, capable, beautiful, and kind. And Andrew was simply HOT. This is my first book by this author, but you can bet I'll be checking out anything else she may have written. And kudos for such a complete ending. It's such a treat for us readers after we've spent hours engaged in a book. Did I mention this hero is hot? I know I will be reading again and again. Apprx. 200 pages.

Not having read any other works by Brenda Rothert before, I was extremely impressed with His, it was a page-turner that had me reading nonstop. It's definitely not your typical Cinderella story, but it's unique enough to keep you wanting for more. It all begins with a simple proposition, sleep with a wealthy man for one night and receive $500 dollars in the process. If anyone were asked that, some might simply say no, but not Quinn. After been a runaway for a couple if years now, she has to take care of her younger sister, and $500 dollars would help her get her sister the medication that she needs. So when a stranger comes up to her and asks her exactly that, she immediately accepts not knowing what she was getting herself into. Now, it was only supposed to be one night, but meeting Andrew changed the game, and now she has to do her job without getting her feeling crushed in the process. Andrew is a wealthy man, who can get just about any women he wants, but that is exactly why he doesn't want the women he attracts. They are all after his money, and or attachments that he is not willing to give. So when he gets the idea to pay women to sleep with him for one night, he thinks that he just solved his problems, but meeting Quinn has left him in doubts that his money can't even solved. Now as he learns more about her, the attraction and chemistry between them grows even more as days go by. It is until they start to reveal their secrets that they both wondered if there could be a potential relationship for them in the future or not. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was filled with twists and turns that had me reading until the very end. The characters have their pasts that they're trying to move away from, but when they meet they find out that they could confide on each other and grow stronger. There is a part of the story that might just be a bit hard to believe, I mean who would actually do what Quinn did, but it really works out well in the end. I loved the ending very much, I would highly recommend reading this story, it will not disappoint. :) ***ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.***

Quinn has been living for four years in the streets of New York with her little sister, Bethy, after running away from home. With Bethy sick and not knowing how to find their next meal, Quinn accepts Dawson's proposition: spend the night with his employer and she'll receive $500 and Bethy gets to spend the night warm in a hotel. Andrew has it all: the money, the looks, the job, and the social standing. But because he has been burned in the past, he keeps people at arms lenght. Dawson, his personal assistant, finds him women when he needs them for a night. When Dawson takes Quinn to Andrew, everything changes for both of them. I loved His! The story is amazing and reminded me a little bit of Pretty Woman. It's a story full of drama, mystery, twists, secrets, and angst. And the sex scenes? HOT! I loved the banter between Quinn and Andrew and how their relationship developed. I couldn't help but love Quinn. She had it all and sacrificed everything to keep her sister safe. She is tough, independent, and stubborn. She is a fighter and knows what she wants. I loved how she always put Bethy's needs first and protected her. I loved Andrew! Andrew is smart, driven, stubborn, and strong. He knows what he wants and always gets it. He was tricked in the past, so he keeps women away, only having one night stands. Sometimes, he can be a little bit cold, but deep down he is very sweet and kind. Brenda Rothert hit the jackpot with His! The book is flawlessly written and you will connect with the story and the characters really fast. It will hook you from the first page and you'll not be able to stop reading!

5 Star Review Brilliant Read I'm not sure where to begin, this book blew me away. Quinn is living on the streets trying to protect her sister when a knight in shining armour gives her a chance to give her and her sister a new start in life. Put the past behind them and stop the running. Will she trust enough to tell him her secrets and will he trust enough to tell her his secrets. Secrets that made him the man he is,a man not looking for love. Secrets that had her running and not wanting love. I loved Quinn and Alex for many reasons but manly because of there compassion for others and the author did a brilliant job getting that across in the book. I love watching these characters grow, I loved watching them learning to trust, I loved the hot sex and this book had to read in one sitting there was no way I could put it down, I had to know did they get what they both deserved true love. This book has it all a mix of sweetness, suspense and angst. At times it was funny and at times it was heartbreaking. Well Done Brenda Rothert

His by Brenda Rothert is a stand-alone story about Quinn, a young homeless woman, and Andrew, the closed-off rich man who rescues her from the streets and from her past. Quinn has been homeless by choice for almost four years. In an effort to save her younger sister and herself from a terrible fate, they ran away. They have been surviving any way they can in New York City and when her sister, Bethy, starts to get sick, Quinn starts to get desperate. When offered a chance at earning some money she can't refuse, she takes the offer and it turns out to be the best decision she could have made for herself and her sister's safety. Andrew has some secrets of his own... When he has his assistant proposition Quinn for a night with him it isn't something he is proud of but after a pregnancy scare/scam a few months ago it is the only way he will handle the intimacy of sex anymore. He has to be in full control. When Quinn shows up she is so much more than he ever would have expected he puts a different offer on the table and change BOTH their lives, irrevocably. It is well-paced and unpredictable with well-developed characters and a heartwarming happy ending. Just everything about this story worked for me. I definitely will be reading more from this author in the future.

I had to skip pages to get through this book. When I got to the last page, I didn't feel like I missed a thing. It felt like a knockoff of another authors popular trilogy.

"His," by Brenda Rothert is one of those books you can't put down until you've read the last sentence...but then you want more. The characters are well developed, the plot keeps you intrigued, and the story is well written. If I have any complaint, it would be that the story (200 pages) was a little on the rushed side...especially the last 25 pages. Ms. Rothert does an excellent job of covering all the bases but alot happens in too short a time as compared to the rest of the book. I found myself looking at the page count as I read and wondering how everything was going to be resolved with so little time left. Would I buy the book again? Most definitely! Would I call it a keeper? Yes! Even with my critique, "His" is a welcome addition to my e-book library.

I really liked this book. Quinn was a strong girl. Broke, cold and hungry Quinn is willing to put her self respect on the line in order to provide for her sister. I liked how Quinn didn't just bow to Andrew's will. I love how she was so determined to keep her knife...lol. She fought him tooth and nail. It made it even more sweet when they got together. Andrew was a good guy. I wish his reasons for his arrangements were alluded to earlier in the book. The reader is told about a situation with a previous companion but I didn't put 1 and 1 together. I had a feeling about certain situations in the book but others were a complete surprise. I really liked the outcome of the book though. I would recommend it. 3.5 stars copy provided for review

Wow!! His was so different from the other books written by Brenda Rothert. I usually enjoy her writing, but I loved this story! It's romantic suspense, which happens to be my favorite genre. The story begins with Quinn and her little sister living on the streets of NY. Andrew's assistant sees Quinn and offers her money in exchange for sex with his boss. She's desperate, so she takes him up on his offer. When Andrew meets Quinn he decides he is interested in her and wants her for more than one night. There are lots of twists and turns in this book and by the time you get to the end you have all of your answers. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it to everyone. Quinn is a survivor. Since escaping from a horrific home life, she's had to learn to take care of herself and her younger sister on the streets of New York City. Andrew Wentworth knows all too well what fear and loss feel like, and has worked hard to create a life where he is completely in control. When Quinn's and Andrew's worlds intersect, the balance and boundaries that each has created will be tested. Any book by Brenda Rothert is going to be on my TBR. As a longtime fan, I know that Brenda's books will not disappoint, and, oh, my goodness, did she ever knock it out of the park with HIS. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite of Brenda's books to date, and one of her most engaging stories ever. I was fully invested in Quinn's and Andrew's story from the first page, and absolutely could not put this book down. There are many secrets within the story, ones that each reader should uncover on their own, so I don't want to say too much for fear of giving anything away. Suffice to say that HIS is a must-read, one that I would recommend without hesitation. HIS is an engaging, action-packed, sexy 5-star read, and I hope to see more of these characters in the future.

A modern-day Pretty Woman that will leave you with all the feels. I adored this well-written, character-driven story that ended with a fantastic HEA. I devoured His in one sitting, staying up until 4am to finish it. This is my second Brenda Rothert book (the other one was amazing too) and it most definitely won't be my last. Boy, can this woman write a great yarn! Andrew and Quinn were great characters, both dealing with the aftermath of traumatic experiences. Andrew lost his father in 9/11 and he has been solely focused and driven ever since. After managing to extricate himself from a more-recent nasty situation, he is hell-bent on avoiding relationships and only engaging in sexual one-nighters that he's paid for. As you do. When fiesty Quinn enters his life he finds himself eating his words. Very quickly one night becomes a six-month contract and thus our story begins. Quinn is running from a hidden past and doing everything in her power to keep herself and her younger sister Bethy away from the person chasing them. They have been barely surviving on the streets these last four years and when she crosses paths with Andrew it couldn't come at a better time. She has literally reached rock-bottom. I really enjoyed Quinn's character, especially how she had matured as a result of her life experiences. She grew up protected and cared for and money was no object. Overnight, all that she had known was gone. Driven by a need to protect Bethy, she has forsaken all that she used to take for granted. When she is thrust into Andrew's world, she is uncomfortable with the excess and the obscene wealth and, as a reader, we really get to see how much she has grown and developed. She didn't want to sit around his house being pampered, so she went out and volunteered with the homeless. In the process, Andrew's perspective on things began to change and his admiration and respect for Quinn accelerated. I loved how patient Andrew was with Quinn, waiting until she was fully ready to consummate their relationship. The slow build of their romance was beautiful, not without its angsty moments, but it was credible and I believed in their chemistry. Andrew became so protective of Quinn and it was so sweet. Ah swoon, he was perfect. And that epilogue? Amazing - loved it so much! Most of the book focused on their relationship, with the other subplot only picking up in the last third of the book. I did think it was a little rushed and there was an opportunity to add more conflict and drama, but, to be fair, it didn't dent my enjoyment of the book, as it really was a fantastic read. I enjoy Brenda's writing style, the book flowed at a consistent pace, and it was well edited. I did find it a little bizarre that Dawson picked a homeless girl to bring to his boss. Surely, a man like Andrew would have gone to a discreet, high-class escort agency to get his hook-ups? I was also wary of Bean and it seemed out of character that Quinn would trust her sister with anyone, even if Bean had been their friend for two years.Anyway, I was able to overlook these issues and just enjoy it. In summary, this was a great read and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Actual Rating 4.5 Stars Thanks to the publisher and Inkslinger PR for providing a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
