While traveling around America, Elijah Banks makes a promise he's unable to keep. So to guard his family's name and his sister-in-law's feelings, Henry Banks tells this beautiful stranger that he is the brother she seeks and impulsively agrees to marry the stunning beauty who introduces herself as Elijah's intended.

It might have been a while since she'd last seen the twins in New York, but she knows it's Henry who is claiming to be Elijah-she just doesn't care. One Banks brother is as good as the next, as far as she's concerned. Her near ensnarement of and marriage proposal from Elijah was just part of her plan to seek revenge on their family, but Henry will suffice just as well.

When Elijah and his new wife return from their recent trip to Italy, he has a lot of explaining to do. Especially, when, for the safety of his entire family, he has to reveal what he knows about this American beauty: including her plan for revenge.

Now, without giving away either his identity or his heart, Henry must find a way to dissuade his wife from revenge-but he's soon finding that ideas are easier formed than executed and with each attempt to change her mind, he loses a little more of his heart to this enchanting creature.

Not the dimwit everyone has treated her as her entire life, she knows exactly what her husband is about. But while her mind refuses to accept his advances, her heart can't deny them. Everything from his carefree manner to his genuine gestures is a stark contrast to the man she'd been married to before.

But when when her opportunity to seek revenge presents itself, she must decide if it's revenge she longed for, or the love of a good man, because even she knows she can't have both.

His Brother's Bride is the fourth book in the Banks Brothers Bride Series by Rose Gordon. I have read all four of them now and loved everyone of them. If you are a fan of historical romances and have not yet checked out any of Rose Gordon's books I highly recommend you do so. I have certainly become a fan of her style of writing a humorous and extremely entertaining story. I have more of her books in my to be read pile and I can't wait to read them. I am sure they are going to be just as wonderful as the whole Banks Brothers Bride series has been. I have to admit when I first meet Laura I didn't much like her. I thought she was offish with the attitude of a snob. However as the story went on  I grew fond of Laura and understood that she was not purposely rude or unkind she had a rough life and was never treated as she meant anything to anyone. This poor young woman had been so abused by her husband and family that she has no idea what a real relationship with a husband or family can be like. I admired Laura and her strength she had to endure all she has been through. Much like Henry's feelings for Laura I grew to love her as time went on, I loved how she grew as the story unfolds.  Henry Banks is the twin brother of Elijah who's story was told in His Jilted Bride, and the son of Edward and Regina who's story was told in His Contract Bride. Henry is a jolly fellow who takes things in stride. When Laura showed up on his door step with a contract to marry his recently married brother, Henry takes on the situation. As he is trying to derail Laura's plan to marry his brother he finds himself with feelings for Laura. I so loved watching this relationship grow and unfold. Henry is so kind and loving that he shows Laura the way a husband should treat a wife.  These two have a HUGE hurdle they must overcome in order to make it to their happily ever after. That is where one of the things I loved about this book comes into play. With love almost anything is possible and has Henry says anything can be forgiven. Over all my opinion on this book has been the same on every book though out the whole series, I could not get enough of this family! I loved the Banks brothers and their Brides. I can not wait to read more by Rose Gordon. I enjoy her flow of telling a story, her humor that I found myself laughing out loud while read, and the characters she creates that makes you feel as if you have just met new friends when you start a new book. I know I will be reading more books by Rose Gordon (some are already in my to read pile so stay tuned for those reviews).

I have read all the Banks Brothers  stories and enjoyed them all ... until this book. His Brother's Bride is sorely in need of a better editor. The first half of the book is so disjointed, I had to keep checking to see f I somehow skipped a page. There was so little character development of Elijah, that if you had not read any of the other books you would have been even more confused by the storyline. All in all...this was not a great read. I don't think even the autor liked the main characters in her novel.

Rose you did it again! I was so happy to see who his bride was! This was an amazing story. I loved all of the Banks boys but I really loved Henry because he always seemed to just be teamed up with his brother and no one really singled him out for the things he could do. The more I got into this story the more I enjoyed it. I want to read more and more stories with the Banks family you should do some with their children! That would be great!!!

This book was bitter sweet for me. I have fallen in love with the Banks family and it breaks my heart that their stories have come to an end. In the beginning I really didn't like Laura. I'm very protective of my favorite characters from other books, and when someone wants to do them wrong it upsets me. However, as the story played out, I found myself falling in love with Laura's character alongside Henry. Both Laura and Henry's characters grew and matured together, and I love how everything turned out in the end. Thank you Mrs. Gordon for such an amazing series, and I look forward to reading the "Officer Series".

I enjoyed this final book in Rose Gordon's Banks Brothers' Brides and the whole Banks Family series that began with The Scandalous Sisters and continued with The Groom Series. I would definitely recommend reading  The Scandalous SIster Series before reading this book as some of those characters make an appearance in this book and part the plot involves something from one of the other books as well. My only real complaint with His Brother's Bride is that I never felt we got to know Henry or his reasons for agreeing so quickly to marry.  Other than that I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.

MRS. Gordon never misses. This book is a great book!!!! I'm really sad it's the last one but let's focus on the good side. WHO knew Henry could be so charming?? The heroine in this book had gone through so much that I was able to understand where she was coming from. I loved everything about this book!! And the twist Rose throws our way is just awesome!! I can't divulge too much info but I would recommend this book to everyone!!! It will make you laugh and keep you intrigued until the end! Rose (in my opinion) went out with a BANG with her last BANKS books!! I give this book a 5 stars!! :-) Kristel

You already have a summery, but here is a quick gist of the book: Miss America (to save her identity) has come to claim her husband and she figures one twin is as good as the other.  So when Henry offers himself up in Elijah's place, who is she to argue.  Henry doesn't know what Elijah got himself into in America, but to spare him and his new bride, he pretends to be his brother and does what he can to dissuade this unwanted union.  They both approach this unusual arrangement with every intention of getting away from it, but what will they do when they realize, it's all they have ever wanted?  Can he come to accept an she put behind a past that is better left there?   First off, I think it is a very good idea to read The Scandalous Sisters' Series as well as the Grooms' Series.  It really helps set up some background and helps you avoid ruining any surprises.  I really enjoyed the book.  It has a good story with strong characters and a lot of surprises you don't see coming.  I hate weak heroins and you never get one with Rose.  Despite situations that could push a weak heroin down, Miss America keeps pushing back.  I love the fact that there are three series now following the same family of people.  Not only do you already have background knowledge of many of the other characters, but you also get to check up on people and see how they are doing, weeks and even many years later.   I've been trying to think about why the latest books I've read from the Banks Brothers series (His Jilted Bride and His Brother's Bride) haven't felt as complete to me as the others and I think it is because everyone else in the series has already learned from their mistakes.  So everyone else has already go through a difficult time and gotten through it so Henry has a plethora of people to get advice from making his issues not really that difficult to overcome.  Things almost get solved too easily, which is, of course, good, but not as interesting to read. Regardless, I think His Brother's Bride is another wonderful book by Rose and a great ending to the Banks Brothers series.

His Brother’s Bride by Rose Gordon Bank Brother’s Series Book 4 Henry Banks is the last brother standing alone, as in single. When an American comes knocking and claims she has a betrothal with his twin, Elijah, what can Henry do but court her to avoid a scandal? Or find her the perfect husband. Laura Swift has a score to settle and she had devised a plan. No man will get in her way of succeeding. Not even Henry Banks, the twin who always left her a bit discombobulated by his steady blue gaze that gave nothing away. Laura had a small part in an earlier story and now the reader can see things from her side of the book. Her life has not been easy and living with such hurt, hate and thirst for vengeance isn’t easy. The emotions run high for our young couple, but as always it is laced with the author’s humor as well. It’s a bit sad to be saying goodbye to the Banks family, they have been a fun family to get to know. I highly recommend reading the books starting with The Scandalous Sisters to the Groom Series and then the Banks Brothers Series to get the entire picture of this crazy family. I really enjoyed this last book.  **Sexual content within marriage
