Katelyn’s father is a tycoon who can be very controlling. Katelyn is illegitimate so she felt like few knew who father was. Katelyn leaves Chicago to make her own way without her fathers help or influence. Katelyn’s father has several businesses just one is gun/weapon manufacturing. Someone is blaming him personally for a college shooting that killed seven students. He is getting threats on himself as well as his family. Katelyn own her own successful bed and breakfast and a restaurant. Katelyn’s father hires an ex military -Thorne- to protect Katelyn as she had already turned down his offer of a bodyguard. But Thorne can not let Katelyn know why he is there. Katelyn’s bartender- Sam- hasn’t come into work the last couple of days and Thorne can’t believe his luck when Katelyn hires him to replace the missing bartender. Katelyn admits she broke up with her last boyfriend for lying to her and Thorne wants to be honest with her but Katelyn’s dad said no. When Sam is found dead Thorne takes Katelyn away and the truth comes out. I like this story alot. It was rapidly paced . It was well written and the plot was good. I loved Katelyn’s independence. I also like the danger and mystery alot. I love the characters especially Thorne and Katelyn and all the ups and downs they go through as well as the story. I recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

I was smitten with this book from the opening pages! When Katelyn Wade left Chicago, it was to get her own identity other than being the daughter of a tycoon. The extravagant businessman, who makes guns for a living, is targeted by a very upset parent for a gun made by his company, which killed eight students. Katelyn thought no one could ever trace her to a small community on a lake in Wisconsin. Her father sends a bona fide, trained in special ops, bodyguard to her place of employment. She owns a small hotel and nice restaurant. He falls for her instantly, as does she him. Sparks turn into a raging inferno of heat, sex and desire for both of them. But what happens when his guard is down and someone is out for revenge? I was on pins and needles the entire book. It is enticing, promising, and even quizzical at times. Especially true, this happens when the pair make a get away and she fears he's the one who's after her. This keeps your heart beating and the pages turning. No sleep for you! Thank you to Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept and NetGalley for giving me a free copy of the e-ARC to read and give my honest review.

Well written, detailed and well rounded, the building of Kate and Thorn's feelings for each other and their eventual relationship unfolded naturally and interestingly. As Thorne helps Kate through some disturbing mysterious happenings, the sparks fly and the story really gets heated up. When Kaye realizes that Thorn isn't necessarily who he says he is, it brings on a whole new twist to things for them. Wrought with mystery and passion, His Deception is definitely not what I was expecting and I'm happily surprised! *I received an arc from NetGalley for an honest review

His Deception is a solid romantic suspense story. I liked Thorne and Katelyn. The story was well plotted and kept me guessing the identity of the villain until the end. However, although well-written, I just didn't find that emotional attachment to the characters that makes me really love a story. For me, this book was a good but not great read. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley, in return for an honest review.

I liked this book by Patricia Rosemoor, it was a bit romance mixed with suspense. I liked the idea of Thorne & Katelyn but as a romantic couple I just felt they feel head over heels rather quickly- just didn't seem realistic. The suspense part of the story was really well written but I agree with some of the other readers that the beginning of the book introduced too many characters that really were very minor parts of the story.... hard to read smoothly when I'm having to stop & remember who so & so was. All said this was a solid read. ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The suspense of the story keeps building up, as the story unfolds, and danger and fear become too familiar companies for Katelyn. There's one positive thing, though, that Thorne seemed to arrive in town, to her place of business in the nick of time, and always there to protect her, and save her from trouble. I liked the suspense part of the story. It is well plotted, and different layers unfolding kept the interest and intensity high, and the reader guessing about the results, and the culprit. Thorne's character is fascinating, he is solid, his protective, loyal, and fierce. And easy to trust, I gather, since Kate does that as soon as she meets him. With no reference, no questions asked, she gives him a job, accepts his constant presence, blindly has faith in him, even unprotected sex with him, without ever doubt in her mind. Yes, I had a hard time connecting with the heroine, for some reason I didn't care for her that much, she seemed to be focused on the wrong things, I wanted to shake her several times - 'focus'. Even though the plot was well thought out, the dialog didn't have the natural flow into it, that often carries the story forward seamlessly. I get distracted by it, was hoping it would smooth out eventually. So we have a well thought out suspense plot, with a hero that I couldn't help but admire, a heroine I wasn't that fond of, and dialog that made me think about the writing style instead of the tale itself... So for me, it hits right in the middle with ~ Three Spoons

I've got a HUGE thing for Thorne. If ever I needed protection, this is the man that I would want by my side. Katelyn's father has received threats against himself and his family following a mass shooting. Thorne shows up in town on assignment to protect Katelyn - unbeknownst to Katelyn as her father hired him after she refused his offers of protection. He inserts himself into her life as well as her business. There's only one problem - he's quite attracted to her. The more he gets to know her, the deeper his feelings go. As the threat seems to inch closer to Katelyn, she grows weary as to who to trust and begins doubting her intuition. This is my first read from Patricia. Let me tell you - you will not guess who the bad guy is until she discloses it. While I did have him in mind at one point, my opinion kept changing as the story unfolded. This story is told so well that I didn't want to put the book down. It is truly riveting and will keep you on your toes. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more from Patricia in the future. I received a NetGalley copy for review.

Katelyn wanted to distance herself from her notorious father. She wants to be known for what she can do and not what her rich father can do for her. But after receiving threatening emails, her father thinks she is in danger. He tries to get her to agree to a bodyguard. But she refuses. So what is a father to do? He does the only thing he can and that is to hire a bodyguard (Thorne) for her without her knowing. Katelyn is missing one bartender. He seems to have mysteriously disappeared so she needs to hire a new one. Thorne can’t believe his luck when Katelyn hires him to be her new bartender. This makes it a lot easier to keep an eye on her. As unexplained things start happening, Thorne and Katelyn become closer and have this mutual attraction toward each other. While Katelyn was fun and witty, she was also a little naïve. She has been told she is in danger, but she trusts Throne to go away with him no questions asked. Thorne was a little of a mystery. You don’t get to know a lot about him. Just that he was prior military and has a strong protective stance toward Katelyn. Overall, this was a good book. Though it seemed more like a mystery, suspense story with a little romance thrown in. However mystery was well done. It did not drag on and kept you guessing as to “who done it”. I have enjoyed other books by this author and look forward to more by her.

This is a face-paced story which keeps you engaged and entertained. From the very beginning you get the bearings of Thorne and how he operates which is refreshing since so many times it swirls around the female which is fine but this is something different which I liked. There's a lot of movement, some serious drama and some heat because Thorne and Katelyn fall into bed with each other. Katelyn is witty, a people person and charming but I did find her a bit naive. She takes longer than necessary to realize someone is an actual threat rather than an annoyance which caused me to roll my eyes more than once. She also didn't even think anything of how tentative Thorne was about her security or the fact that he was so handy and well-trained. I liked Katelyn but wanted to smack her and strangler her at the same time. Thorne was so ex-military it made me laugh. His hold protection, aggression and constant notice of things scream his military training. He's clever and loyal which is always an interesting mix. I liked him but didn't love him.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Hawt dayummmm...His Deception is a must-read! Ms. Rosemoor has put together one marvelous novel for our reading enjoyment. The book is like a roller coaster with all it’s twists and turns, the suspense drawn out as you try to sort out who is targeting Katelyn for a personal vendetta. Thorne, hired as an undercover bodyguard by Katelyn’s father, keeps Katelyn close while he ferrets out the truth, all the while keeping Katelyn from finding out that he is being paid to protect her. Matters heat up between the two as bodies start to drop like flies and truths become revealed. My only issue with this book was the lack of sexual responsibility between the romantic couple. I got an icky feeling over the fact that Thorne and Katelyn were only days into knowing one another when they had sex; in this day and age, there should be condoms and/or some kind of protection written in...it’s a must, even in books. Overall though this was an awesome read.

Being the daughter of a notorious tycoon definitely comes with it's disadvantages, but Katelyn Wade has worked hard to separate herself from her father's shadow, and all of his shady business dealings. Being his daughter has never been easy, because there is always someone trying to take him down, and their not above taking her down with him or using her to get to him, which occasionally means she gets caught up as collateral damage. This time though the stakes are a lot higher, and her life is in danger, she however, has heard it all before and isn't too concerned, and passes on her father's offer for protection. Her father can't risk anything happening to her, so he goes behind her back and hires her a personnel bodyguard, who just so happens to be the same man she just hired as her new bartender at her resort. Thorne Hudson is a professional bodyguard that has been hired to protect a business tycoon's daughter, who just so happens to also be his new boss at a lakeside resort. When he found out that her current bartender went missing and she was in need of a replacement he figured this would be the best way to watch over her, without her knowing he was there to protect her from her father's enemies. What he didn't plan on though was the immediate connection they had or how much he would be attracted to her, and as much as he'd like to act on his feelings for her, he can't because it would be unethical, and wrong on so many levels. The more time he spends with her though, the more guilty he feels about lying to her, and the more he defenses start to weaken... This story captivated my attention right from the get go and held on tight until the very end, it was so addictive and had me flying through the pages as fast as I could swipe them!! The story line was inventive, packed with edge or your seat intensity, smoldering passion, steamy romance, thrilling mystery, and took me on one spectacular literary ride!! Definitely one of the best NetGalley finds that I have stumbled onto in quite a while, and also one of the most impressive first reads I have had the pleasure of reading!! If you like your romance stories a little on the steamy side, and fused with some spine tingling mystery then this might just be the perfect read for you!! Highly recommend it!!

A suspenseful, well written story that had me on the edge of my seat till the very end. Katelyn Wade is a woman who has worked hard to be successful on her own terms. Living in the shadow of her powerful and rich father has been difficult but she's happy where she is now. Owning her own Restaurant and B&B has brought her contentment she's only dreamed of. All that changes when a gunman opens an attack on a college campus using a gun that is manufactured by one of her father's companies. Death threats on his family have everyone on high alert but Katelyn refuses to offer of protection he offers her. Thorne Hudson can't believe his luck when an opportunity to work as Katelyn's bartender presents itself. After all he is her to keep and eye on her and provide protection as her father requested so this is a perfect set up. Never does he intend to fall for the young beauty. He wants to tell her exactly who he is and why he's there but her father forbids it stating that Katelyn will only send her away and Thorn isn't about to let that happen. With all the crazy happenings he knows in his gut she's in danger and he's determined not to let anything happen to her. If your a fan of romantic suspense this is one you don't want to miss. I definitely recommend it.
