Free Mitchell loves the theater. In his dreams he’s the one taking the spotlight. But so far he’s played against character by following in his father’s footsteps as an investment banker. When he’s masquerading as Dr. Who or Sherlock Holmes to help his brother, he feels he can escape his shy, dorky persona. But nothing’s prepared him to play boyfriend to a gorgeous girl like Samantha Wolf.
Samantha isn’t quite sure what to think of Free. He’s cute, sweet, and quirky, but his outlandish costumes make him seem crazy. However, it turns out Sam has a soft spot for theater nerds. And the more time they spend together, the more their steamy romance begins to take center stage. Only problem is, there doesn’t seem to be a script. And it’s anyone’s guess how this one will end.

Free sucked at asking girls out and had not been on a date since Kim broke up with him.Samantha/ Sam was at the coffee shop Free went to. She couldn’t find her money and Free paid for her coffee as well as his own. Sam volunteered at a shelter and went to school. Her parents had money but not her. Sam felt her life was unsettled. Free wore costumes when he went to the gym with his brother Cary to take the attention off his brother so Cary would go to the gym in his overweight state. Free’s father wants Free to become an investment lawyer like he was. That is what Free is planning on doing with his life. But he also loves acting. Sam likes Free’s quirkiness and really thinks it’s sweet when she finds out he dresses up for his brother and why. But she is not too happy when she learns of his future plans. She wants to be a social worker. The center she volunteers at is for women and children of domestic abuse. I liked this story , it was really sweet especially how Free cares for his family as does Sam. I think Free likes studying to become an investment banker and he is good at it. But he can still enjoy acting in his spare time. Anyway I liked the characters especially Free and Sam and all the ups and downs they go through. I recommend I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

His Dream Role is the third roommate in the hot and nerdy series by Shannyn Schroeder. It features the quirky Humphry or Free Mitchell. He is an all around good guy who regularly dresses up in different costumes as a way of helping his brother as he loses weight. He is also in his last year of college, active in the drama department, and plans on working in the financial sector when he graduates. On his way home from the gym, he meets Samantha, a social work student. She is very amused by Free's costumes and they start to become friends. Free has a crush on her, but isn't motivated to ask he out until his roommates throw a New Year's Eve Party. Free courts Samantha using different movie quotes and soon they are dating. Will Free and Samantha create a lasting relationship or will they fall apart? This is a cute book that features a funny, quirky hero and a good girl who is looking to help those who aren't as fortunate as she. I have loved reading all of Ms. Schroeder's book and this is a great addition to the series. I was given a free copy for an honest review by netgalley.com
