His Ever After by Jessica Ingro is a really great read. After reading the first book in this series, I was anxious to see where this story would go. The story line in this book is so much deeper and filled with so much more, I could not put it down. All it took was another perspective. The twists and turns in Jacob's side of the story were very exciting and mysterious. I enjoyed the dangerous cycle as well. Very impressed with this book. And, of course, the love scenes are just too hott!
Ms. Ingro decided Jacob deserved his own story and I have to admit that was an awesome choice. His Ever After is one intense ride much like Love Square. I went through a wave of emotions while reading. It was quite surprising that I absolutely, hands down loved reading this that the main emotion I felt was irritation and disgust. The disgust was mainly for Jacob. He is forever and ever amen a complete utter douche. I'm not even sure if I can express all the different ways I find him douchey without spoiling the story. Which irritates me to the fullest. I probably should disclosure that although I greatly detested him, somehow I found that one soft spot for him. I'm sucker. I know. He spent so much time trying to find that one love to fill that void he had after Sam went back to her husband. He actually struggled causing him to treat some potentially nice woman bad. I'm still conflicted on if he deserved his ever after all. His Ever After picks up where Love Square left off. Sam is back with her husband, her life is happy with their new baby. Jacob is still with Brooke and she is....how to put this nicely. BAT S*** Crazy. After finding the reason behind her madness and mayhem; you find yourself looking at her in a completely different light. After a tragic and unexpected turn Jacob finds himself being closer to Brooke's friend Kara whom he noticed during Brooke's battyness, but resisted the urge to act on anything. I found myself irritated with Kara at times because for all of her sweetness and awesome sauce personally she allowed so many people to treat her like dirt. While His Ever After probably could be read without reading Love Square first, but I don't think it'll have the same effect if you don't have the background story to go along with it.Not to mention why would you deny yourself of Ms. Ingro amazing story telling that leaves you on the end of your seat wanting more of these dysfunctional people. Yes. Even tho I was disgusted, irritated and even wanted to throw my kindle at times I very much enjoyed the ride I was taken on and would without a doubt take that ride again. **Huge thanks to the author for providing me with an arc copy in exchange for my honest opinion**
His Ever After took me a bit by surprise. There were some things I was expecting, but there was a whole new element to Jacobs story that I enjoyed. Then there was the heat. Oh boy, was there heat! I'll admit that I wasn't a huge Jacob fan in the first book. However, I was open to the possibility that he may redeem himself. And in His Ever After, he did. I enjoyed getting to know him a bit better. It helped me understand why he made the decisions he had in the past, but we also see a whole new side to his character, that I really liked. I will say that I was ready to see him close the chapter on his obsession with Samantha. She was happy in her marriage and he needed to let her go. His relationship with Brooke was way complicated. I was surprised by how that part of the story played out. I wasn't expecting it. And in some ways, feel like it come on abruptly. But, it also gave a broader opening to put Jacob with the person he was really supposed to be with. Kara and Jacob have known each other for a while, because Kara was friends with Brooke. The "situation" with Brooke, brings Kara and Jacob closer together. I really liked Kara, which kind of surprised me, because I don't usually care for timid characters. But, I loved the way she was able to draw Jacob out of his gloom and make him really see that he was capable of loving and be in a healthy relationship. They both helped each other heal too. I also loved that Kara became close to Jacob's sister and her kids. It was so sweet. I was really happy with Kara and Jacob being together. The heat level was hot, but in a different way than the first book. The first book was crazy HOT! And it was also forbidden sex. In this book, Jacob and Kara had hope for a future together. Even if it didn't start out that way, that's how it was. There was chemistry and a deeper connection between them. It was pretty great! Overall, I enjoyed His Ever After. I was glad to see Jacob move on and find happiness. It was great to see Samantha and Aiden again too. I was glad to see them happy.
