This book was gifted to Book Worms by the Author for an honest review. We gave this book 4.5 stars.  This is book two in The Light in the Wound Series. This is the continuing story to The Light in the Wound and that must be read before this one. Possible SPOILERS to come. Synopsis Isabel and Alex have been blissfully happy for ten years where they moved to the States to start fresh with each other. Now headed home for a funeral, Isabel forgot how much she missed home and her and Alex decide to move back. Now with two children, fantastic careers and each other, what could go wrong? Following an unthinkable tragedy, Isabel's life gets turned upside down. Her faith, her sanity, and her love will be tested. Will a past love be able to make her see what she gave up? Will her husband fail her love? My view A 4.5 Stars without hesitation. I loved this book as much as I loved the first one. This one had a little more drama in it and was a little grittier which I loved. I was team Alex even in the first one. I felt that his and Isa's connection was much stronger then her and Jesse. However, Jesse made some strides in this book. I do think that some of the day-to-day stuff could have been removed without losing any of the story but I think that would be the only thing I would change. Follow the journey of Isabel, Alex, and Jesse in their lives and in their own words which I loved. Find out what only a few of us are lucky enough to have to go through. Read this book and enjoy.

Christine Brae delivered another powerfully emotional and gripping story. I was immersed, once again, in the highs and lows of Isa and Alex's relationship. This love story wasn't always pretty, but their ending was gratifying. You know that expression about not being able to fully love someone without first loving yourself? Isa became intimately familiar with that expression over the course of the story. After certain events put a wall up between she and Alex, she has to learn how to forgive herself and how to live her life for herself. She makes some mistakes along with way but eventually comes to a place where she is stronger than she's ever been. Alex...oh, Alex. I wanted to strangle him a few times. Yes, I understood his reasoning for his actions but it didn't stop me from being angry at him. The events he and Isa had to endure and the heartache it all caused had tears streaming down my face. It was very satisfying to see Alex mature a little more and realize what was most important in his life. As for Jesse Cain...well, I was never on his team. However, he endeared himself to me in His Wounded Light. He has changed and matured over the past 12 years. He showed it in his ability to be present for Isa when she needed him and not pushing for more than she could give. His Wounded Light is a love story. And as Isa points out: "Love will always persevere no matter what happens in your life, so once you have it, nurture it and never let it go. ...You can lose yourself a million time over, but your heart will always know who you are. In every wound and place of emptiness, love provides a light that guides you through the darkness. It relentlessly seeks you out and stops at nothing to find you. Love always finds you. And when it does, it will bring you home." Isa, Alex and Jesse have been through a lot together over the years...some happy times, some sad times. I was thoroughly satisfied with where they each ended up. His Wounded Light was heartbreaking yet ultimately uplifting conclusion to these three once wounded, now healed souls.

5 Healing Stars! If there ever was a book for me to be biased about, it’s this one. However, while there are definite elements that I was deeply involved with, I had a much different perspective and reaction to this story than The Light in the Wound. Instead of the protective instincts I had over Isa about her past, this was a future yet to be written and it stirred different emotions. In a way, less personal to me, and yet, I still had that deep love for the characters. Now, I loved The Light in the Wound, but His Wounded Light took Christine’s writing skills to another level. If possible, I loved this one even more. The characters have matured and lived more life. I found myself angry at characters I loved and loving characters I wasn’t fond of. It’s a story I believe a lot of people will relate to, not the actual circumstances, but the stages in life and feelings that come with it. I have seen a few that are afraid of what may happen in this book. Don’t be. It is a beautiful story. One that needed to be told to bring completion to a set of characters that so many have grown to love and hold in their hearts. You won’t be disappointed no matter which way you bend. Keep writing Christine. Can’t wait to see what is up your sleeves. But, relax a while. You deserve it. We will still be here.
