About the Author

Cricket grew up in Estes Park, Colorado, and spent her formative years among deer, bobcats, coyotes and beautiful blue columbine. Today she is a full-time author writing about the great outdoors, teachers, dogs, love, laughter, and life’s little mysteries—think romantic suspense.

Prior to writing, Cricket's career path included the following jobs: actor, singer, audio/video producer, classroom teacher, school principal, and U of A, College of Education assistant professor.

The first three novels in The Lindsey Lark Series are--WANTED: AN HONEST MAN; LETTERS, LOVERS, & LIES; and HIT THE ROAD, JAKE!. (Formerly, the School Days-Grimm Nights Trilogy.)

And, yes. All three books are works of fiction. REALLY! (Well, except the part about the dog; Cricket really had a dog like Wendell, the mastiff, who appears in every book.)

Reviewed by Anne-Marie Reynolds for Readers' Favorite Hit the Road, Jake by Cricket Rohman is Book 3 of the Lindsey Lark Series. Jake and Lindsey have become good at finding petty offenders, but their latest mystery has turned personal, resulting in tires that are slashed, a missing pet, blood, and some very steamy love letters. Jake manages to get some of the blood samples tested for DNA, but neither of them expect the shocking results. Things are about to turn very deadly indeed. While they seem to be the perfect couple, travelling in their RV, and solving mysteries that schools don’t want anyone knowing about, things are about to change in a big way when all hell breaks loose. Hit the Road, Jake (Lindsey Lark Series Book 3) is another amazing story in this series. Again, you could probably read this one on its own, but truthfully, I would urge anyone thinking of picking up this book to read the previous books first, if only to gain the background knowledge. This is another great story line, a deep and twisting plot that will have you on the edge of your seat, turning the pages anxiously to see what could possibly happen next. The character development is continued in the same vein as the other books, allowing us more glimpses into what makes the main characters tick. Is there going to be a fourth in the series? I hope so because this is one of the best series I have read in a long time. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants a good story to get into.

Heat Level: 1 flames out of 5 Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5 This is the third book in the Lindsey Lark Series. I have not read the other two book. This may or may not have helped in the reading of this book. It is a stand alone, but I think I would have understood the character development more if I read the first two books. The book has a quirky rhyming theme to it. I understand that this was part of the story line, but I am not a fan of sing song type books. I did like the plot of this story. A husband and wife team traveling around in their RV with their adorable Mastiff, a sweet gentle giant of a dog and co hero of the book. Along with a sweet bird. They are private detectives hired by various school districts to uncover problems associated in their schools. Lindsey is an educator who runs workshops aimed at helping teachers teach better. Her husband, Jake is the detective that works undercover to fix the underlying problems. Along the journey the team run into several obstacles that lead to an exciting ending. This is not a romance per say, but the couple is loving and adorable together. The pacing is a little hard to follow at times. It may be however the rhyming that distracted me. I enjoyed the conclusion of this story. I believe that the character development would have be better for me if I had read the first two books of this series. I would recommend this book, but suggest reading the series from the start to get the full gist of the overall story.
