A TEAM MACACHEK NOVELLA
Bridget O’Brien lost her fiancé to a dangerous job. And, while she’d love to have a relationship like the one she lost, the last thing she wants is one with another man who willingly puts his life in danger. Luke Foster is a motocross racer whose track record with women runs short and no-strings-attached on both sides. He’d never seriously pursue a forever-after woman like Bridget.
All they want is a holiday week away. Bridget from her well-meaning family’s condolences about her planned Christmas Eve wedding and her memories of a future that won’t be. Luke from his family’s annual critique at which he and his life choices always fall short of expectations.
But, under the blue Caribbean skies, anything can happen.
TEAM MACACHEK: Meet the strong women and fearless men of the motocross circuit.
About the Author
Jean C. Gordon's writing is a natural extension of her love of reading. From that day in first grade when she realized t-h-e was the word "the," she's been reading everything she can put her hands on. A former financial planner, Jean is as at home writing retirement- and investment-planning advice as she is writing romance novels, but finds novels a lot more fun.
She and her college-sweetheart husband tried the city life in Los Angeles, but quickly returned home to their native Upstate New York. They share a 170-year-old farmhouse just south of Albany, NY, with their daughter and son-in-law, two grandchildren, and a menagerie of pets. Their son lives nearby. While Jean creates stories, her family grows organic fruits and vegetables and tends the livestock de jour.
Although her writing and family don't leave her a lot of spare time, Jean likes to give back when she can. She and her husband team-taught a seventh-and-eighth-grade Sunday school class for several years and currently serve on her church's Evangelism Committee. She also shares her love of books with others by volunteering at the church's Book Nook.

Holiday Escape by Jean C. Gordon It was to be Bridget's wedding day. Instead she's at the airport and waiting for her connecting flight to get away from it all. Jeff died doing his job at the US Embassy overseas...she's going to go on the cruise to the Caribbean. Luke she notices at the airport-she was his PT teacher and he's hot to look at. He and his older uncle are on the 'no holiday' cruise that means no holiday music or decorations. What I really liked about this story was that I've never been on a cruise and was so fun to hear about all the other activities available off the ship. Is it possible this could just be a once in a lifetime and they can end it at the end of the cruise... Excerpt from another in the series is included. Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Luke Foster and his Uncle Ralph win the Holiday Escape cruise tickets at his billiard league's holiday party. It's a cruise for seniors wanting to escape the holiday season. Imagine Luke's surprise when Bridget O'Brien is on the same cruise. She was his PT while she was moonlighting at Dana Macachek's physical therapy practice. Even though she was engaged at the time, they still became friends and enjoyed flirting. Now, she's available because her fiancé was killed on the job. Can she get involved with another man that has a dangerous job? One-click your copy and see what happens. We also get to learn about Uncle Ralph's and Joyce Needman's romance. She really doesn't like Luke and doesn't mind telling Bridget how she feels. Wait until you find out why!
