I love the surprise baby trope. This story didn't do it for me. CHIARA is an a-list actress with a scandal prone estranged father. Rick is a stuntman on her latest film but he's really the producer (silent partner) who volunteers to be her fake lover to get good publicity to offset her bad publicity from the dad. The premise seemed weak to me. To add incentive to Rick, heroine's manager tells him she has a stalker. Huh? Turns out to be true, we're told. The pair also get a Snow White thing going in their banter for some unknown reason. It just pops in. I re read the section where it started to see if I missed something. (I didnt). I thought at first it was related to the film they're shooting, but apparently not. Lots of tell-not-show & poor transition between scenes. Sloppy editing & proof reading. At one point, the heroine (Chiara) is referred to as the female antgonist's name (Isabel). I liked Rick well enough, but not Chiara. Sheis a is supposed to be a risk taker, yet she seems hesitant & insecure & completely submissive to her nutsy, manipulative manager. (At one point heroine compliments herself on selecting her own clothes for a meeting with her family.) She prided herself on her independence yet acted anything but throughout. She becomes whiny and clingy but we're routinely told she's strong and independent. I expected better.

Hollywood Baby Affair By Anna DePalo Chiara Feran is an action movie star that works very hard not to give the paparazzi anything negative to write about. Unfortunately, her father doesn’t seem to mind doing so. In order to draw attention away from her father’s antics, Chiara’s manager devises a plan to generate positive press… a fake fling with someone on the set. Her manager sets her sights on stuntman Rick Serenghetti. Rick has a secret though, he is not just a stuntman. He is willing to go along with the fake affair, but somewhere along the way, they begin to develop feelings towards each other. Can they both get over their issues to find happiness with each other? Can the fake affair become real? This is the second book in the Serenghetti Brothers series. I couldn’t wait to read it and I was not disappointed. Rick is not your usual stuntman, he only does it for the rush. When he is approached by Chiara’s manager, Odele with a proposition to pretend to date Chiara, he is up for the game, after all, it will only last for a short period of time. Throughout the story, we see how both Chiara and Rick struggle with how they feel for each other. I really loved the part of the story when Rick brings her home to meet the family. It was everything Chiara used to dream of. I enjoyed this story so much that I couldn’t put it down. The relationship between Chiara and Rick develops slowly as each fights the attraction to each other. The Serenghetti family is priceless and Chiara’s manager Odele is ruthless.. Ms DePalo has another winner. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book in this series.
