I use this Bible for my daily devotions and when I just want to read God's Word. The New Living Translation (NLT) is more of a thought for thought translation of the Greek and thus makes this Bible easier to read. For Bible study, I prefer the English Standard Version (ESV) or the New King James Version (NKJV) because they are closer to the word for word translation of the Greek, making them a little harder to read because the word's don't "flow" as well. Physically, I like the "feel" of this particular Bible. The font is a little larger than regular Bibles and makes for easy reading. Chirst's words are in red and the lack of notes, etc helps for an easy read. If that's what you want in an easy to read Bible, then this will be for you. If you want a Bible for study, then you would want a study Bible in the ESV or NKJV.

I bought this translation because it is the one most used by my church. The print is large enough for people who have trouble seeing small print, which is nice. It also has the red lettering in the new Testament. The cover is sturdy. Being so used to the NIV, I do find that the language is so straight forward, that you lose a little bit in the text. I suppose its just a matter of preference though. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the purchase and would recommend it to people.
